Assassin's Creed Origins: DLC Plan Announced

It is no secret that Ubisoft loves their DLC. So fans of the series were not surprised to see the company announce a host of Assassin’s Creed Origins post-launch content. The game will have a lengthy life cycle, with two major expansions and a number of smaller updates prepared to be released after the game launches later this month.

Not even out yet and still announcing this ?, thank you Ubisoft you just save me 60 plus dlls , you are so kind for letting me know not to buy this game. ;)

DLCs, microtransactions, loot boxes. This has got to be one of the darkest year in gaming, despite all the great games that had and will come out.

Since when is DLC bad too?

OMGitzThatGuy343d ago

When it's content that should have been in the base game that lessens the original content.

Erik7357343d ago

On Nintendo Switch I'm seeing none of that garbage

Docmortem343d ago

@Erik7357 Zelda Breath of the Wild Season Pass? Switch titles will get more DLC and Season Passes in the future ... Nintendo was just never the quickest in jumping on new developements. But in the end they do what works to earn more money.

@Erik7335 Look at HZD, the game give players a full content and a free update. Only HZD expansion pack that is worth more than ZBOTW season pass.

RommyReigns343d ago

That Zelda Stink Of The Wild season pass where you had to pay for a harder mode because apparently the base game was 'too easy'? Guerilla gave Ultra Hard mode and New Game + on Horizon for free.

You gonna buy the game like everybody else. It's nice to pretend that you will not and be above other. Eventually you will get there and buy it. Or at least pirated it.

Docmortem343d ago

I think waiting for a GotY Edition with all the content one year later for 40-50€ or 30€ if you wait a bit longer is a valid option. Especially when you have a backlog of other games waiting to be played/finished

DarthSocio343d ago

DLC isn't always bad, especially if you get your money's worth for them. Look at the DLC in the witcher 3

Tetsujin342d ago

DLC itself isn't bad, it's when there's talk of expanding a single player game before initial release. At first I didn't mind because it was something that only happened with certain titles; however over time the majority of companies looked at it as a quick cash grab. I'm still a big supporter of making a game complete, and only release dlc/expansions as needed to help build on top of the game; not cut content and release it later. This is a big reason why gaming before 2005 by many is considered better than now. It's not about graphics, technology, or multiplayer; it's about complete experiences and getting your moneys worth.

Boozehound343d ago

Might as well just wait until all content is released and buy it at half price.

toddybad343d ago

Never, ever buy a single player game new

MrSwankSinatra343d ago

And that's why we get less AAA SP focused games

Docmortem343d ago

@MrSwankSinatra that is not true. Developing a AAA SP game in general takes very long as it has to have real content (unless MP games) and that content has to have top graphics making it expansive and thus risky for investors. This is why we seemingly get less AAA SP games. For the same reason we get all those other money grabbing systems as investors wanna see a quick turn around. The first 3 months are the most profitable ... thus everything has to be there at the start.

Some sweet content to look forward to

Game payment plus dlc plus loot creates.

Might as well ask the bank for a loan at this rate
