The 2017 version of The Mummy may have bombed, but its video game, The Mummy Demastered, looks to be an extremely promising Metroidvania game.
The game looks promising much much better than the horrible movie.
I'm actually morbidly curious about the movie, if only to get some context for the game.
The movie is watchable up until about half way through when the mummy lady starts walking through a city and bringing down whole city blocks. It was just like " ok yea I can't do this"...and I got up and left. Was not one of my better life choices.....going to see that movie that is. This game looks pretty good though.
It's a dumb movie with some good cgi effects but the real reason to watch the film is the gorgeous Sofia Boutella.
movie wasnt horrible. it was decent
I like it. Looks like another switch game for me
I'm kinda surprised it's also not being made for the 3DS.
What the hell happened to Brendan Fraser? He just dissapeared at the peak of his career.
I know right? Really weird. Becomes famous, then dissapears.
After Dudley Do Right you would too
he was great too! he was chis pratt before there was chris pratt.
He married a soul sucking succubus that divorced him He stars in a new show i believe but you should see his interviews, they make you want to cry cause you feel so bad. He went from a super charasmatic person to one of the saddest person on earth.
He's not a superstar but he still has an acting career going.
just type his name into google. it's no secret he's one washed up has been, your brendan.
Didn't all his hair fall out overnight.
Looks kind of cool
Well i mean, it's Wayforward. They make good games
I almost want to dare someone to find a bad Wayforward game. Not an ok, decent, or average game, but a genuinely bad game.
Almost the exact same article was on Polygon.
So, are you accusing me of plagiarism or something? You are aware that I quoted and linked that very article, right?
Do you see the term plagiarism in my comment ?
Plagiarism is defined as taking someone else's work and passing it off as your own. Claiming my article is "almost the exact same article" on another site can be taken as an accusation of plagiarism, whether or not you use the word "plagiarism" in your claim. If you're not accusing me of plagiarism, ok then, but please be careful how you word comments in the future.
You're right, I'm sorry. I would edit my comment but for some reason there is no option to do so.
It's ok. No harm, no foul.
The "edit" option exists within about 5-10 minutes of the comment you are trying to edit or a certain amount of times (whichever comes 1st)...after that you will find no edit option available to you.
I'm finding the name Demastered a bit strange, makes it sound crap. What does it mean if anything?
It's a play on remastered, a term we associate with games that have been re-released with better graphics and audio. This demastered game isn't based on anything but uses 16-bit graphics instead of, say, Unreal 4, hence the term demastered. I may be wrong here, but the first "demastered" game ever was the pixelated, 8-bit remake of Lucious called Lucious Demake. I kinda want to see more demakes and demasters now.
I thought the movie had its moments. I would like to see a sequel and how Tom Cruise deals with having Set inside him.
The only reason i watched the mummy was for the cgi, i knew the movie would be a a bit crap from the outset. This game meanwhile looks like it could be decent.
It looks really good actually. After seeing Cupheads newest trailers I was disappointed but this game makes up for it
Yes the movie sucked but like many licensed games from the 8-16 bit era it doesn't have to follow the narrative of the movie they are based off of. Another game with a similar style was Axiom Verge which i enjoyed quite extensively (minus the ending)...I will most likely pick this game up if it's anything similar or better.
I've been meaning to buy that game.
I got it on sale as part of the Deals with Gold for like $5. Totally worth it.
I have to say i do like the pixel style look of the game. I hope the game ends up being better then the movie
