Great sales so far

Ok now Spyro Trilogy HD Remake. Thanks

UltraNova60d ago

Who wouldn't!?!?
That and a new Crash game would be great!

dirkdady60d ago

Not meant to be a controversial statement, but more observational - this game and Neir(PS4/PC) selling over 2 million on limited platforms, namely the PS4 shows developers with limited resources can still be successful when launching on a limited number of platforms.
Are we back to the heydays of ps2 were devs like Rockstar and others can make mid-level games like Manhunt which is affordable to make but profitable?

EatCrow60d ago

@dirkdaddy

Affordable games can still be very profitable.
I think that devs are focusing to much on the triple AAA budget and strategy and forgetting that they can make just as much profit and just as good a game if they focus on simply making a good game instead of skyrocketing the production values.

Ori and the blind forest
Neir
Japanese games in general
Senuas Sacrifice
Child of Light
Resident Evil 7
Ratchet and Clank remake
and of course Crash
Most of these dont cost the likes of say something like the next COD
but are usually much better games overall.

VenomSnakeRisingX60d ago

@Eatcrow- EXACTLY! Most don't understand this. Resident Evil 7 might have sold 4 million, but it also didn't cost as much as some COD like RE6 and didn't have some huge 600 man team....like RE6.

Spyro the Dragon G' Nasty Trilogy. ^_^

Shubhendu_Singh60d ago (Edited 60d ago )

Of all the sites there are, Article quoted VGChartz. wth.

Anyway, FORBES even told Crash sold -more than- 2.5M copies on PS4. Holy Sht.
I for one did not expected this one bit. Kudos.

Edit: And the numbers gonna go up once it released on XB and PC.
Edit2 : classic N4G. Good to be back, downvoting because I said XB and PC. The game is being published by ACTIVISION. And they can release it on any platform they want, not just Sony.

If a dog is known for biting people who poke it don't be surprised when it bites you for poking it.

MVGeneral60d ago (Edited 60d ago )

No they can't.
Maybe a new crash game but the old ones were developed by sony first party (naughty dog) and they have a deal to keep it on ps under contract. But future and new releases might make it to other platforms.

Guess this single player game really made an impact afterall

;)

guyman60d ago (Edited 60d ago )

Single player games are dead. Only shooters are good. Japanese games are irrelevant and have no impact.Exclusives dont matter (Unless it's PUBG even though it's timed)

Does this sound familiar?

V0LT60d ago

For an install base as large as PS4 has 2 million is not great sales.

VenomSnakeRisingX60d ago

How is 2 million not good? This isn't a huge AAA shooter with some huge COD budget. 2 million is huge for something like this.

Razzer60d ago

You guys need new material. Spouting the same old bullshit

Trez123460d ago

Not everyone bought the ps4 like crash or platforming in general. Maybe this comes across as alien to some but PlayStation has a very diverse install base.

xX-oldboy-Xx60d ago

Great numbers for Crash, how's Phantom Dust rolling along? For a simple comparison.

Additional: For an install base as large as PS4 has 2 million is not great sales (how could i forgot about this stupid piece of damage controlling)

Does this sound familiar?

BlaqMagiq160d ago

The install base argument is a terrible argument used by Xbox fanboys who don't like seeing something sell well on PS4

I know right, how can Spyro not be next?

Bigpappy60d ago

Looks like there is an apatite for old games on PS4 too? I would have never guessed.

Neonridr60d ago

Europe really loves this game.

SolidStateSnake60d ago

Europe is diverse in their gaming. Not like USA where only dudebro shooters sell or Japan where only Jrpg's sell.

KwietStorm60d ago

If only shooters sell in America, how is it the biggest gaming market and how does Final Fantasy sell more than in Japan?

SolidStateSnake60d ago (Edited 60d ago )

Yeah the biggest gaming market for what genre? The biggest sold franchises are CoD and BF. Both shooters.

Compared to other genres, shooters sell very good in USA.

Darkwatchman60d ago

Not like USA where only dude bro shooters sell? If that's the case, then why have niche JRPG's in the past like Shin Megami Tensei 4 and Etrian Odyssey Untold 2 among others taken a year and a half or so longer to arrive in Europe in comparison to North America!?? We speak the same language. The localization is done so what's the hold up??? It's probably due to the fact that they don't sell as well in Europe.
