Well deserved! Closest competitor might be Super Mario Odyssey

Erik735764d ago

It's funny to see the only other game coming out this year that will even have reviews close to Zelda breath of Wild is ANOTHER Nintendo game

DJK1NG_Gaming63d ago

Of course. 3D Zelda and Mario are always top scoring games.

notachance63d ago

that's cause they're brilliant developers, so much that we already know the games will be great from miles away

l3w1s63d ago

So Persona 5 and Divinity Original Sin 2 are now Nintendo games? Got it.

roadkillers63d ago (Edited 63d ago )

I'd take Mario over Persona or Divinity any day of the year.

l3w1s63d ago

@roadkillers

And that's okay, that's your opinion. Noone forces you to like something. But the case was about "reviews" and P5 and Divinity are really "close" to BotW.

G3ng4r62d ago

@l3w1s No that doesn't make them nintendo games lol that's preposterous. While persona 5 and original sin did well in terms of metacritic they're actually a step below botw in the same way subsequent metroid prime games released in similar hardware confines were a step below the first but since we're talking about newer ps4 games they don't have that excuse. Nice try, did better than hzd though.

Well deserved. And the first of many

DJK1NG_Gaming63d ago (Edited 63d ago )

Congrats!
As for me. It will be tough at the end of year.
Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Super Mario Odyssey
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Gonna be tough choosing one.

For my honorable mention so far:
Persona 5
Fire Emblem Echoes
----
Still need to get:
Pokemon Ultra Moon
Nier: Automata
Gravity Rush 2

This year Japanese games dominate by a landslide.

DJK1NG_Gaming63d ago

Ah I forgot about Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, Splatoon 2 and ARMS for Honorable Mention.

notachance63d ago

If you have 3ds definitely try Ever Oasis, Monster Hunter Stories, and Metroid: Samus Return, all of them are also masterpieces made by Japanese

This is the year Japanese games returns to form.

DJK1NG_Gaming63d ago

Oh I do. I plan to get Monster Hunter Stories and Ever Oasis first half of 2018. I enjoyed the demo for both. I have Metroid Samus Return but my older brother has it.

Segata63d ago

Nier Automata is so good! Persona 5 is great as well. As a person who loved Gravity Rush..2 is such a letdown. It felt great at first but the further I got in the game the worse it became. :( Shame as was so looking forward to it.

DJK1NG_Gaming62d ago

That kinda how I feel about Persona 5. Enjoyed the game a lot til hasn't beaten it yet but the end of the game. I haven't really been feeling it.

scarface012163d ago (Edited 63d ago )

Underpowered console they say but it has the best games. Oh the irony. Lol

Congrats to Nintendo

Graphics don't mean sh $t it's all about how the game plays. Example Knack vs Super Mario Odyssey.

Anyone gunna sit there and say Knacks better because it has more polygons than Mario Odyssey? Artistically, Mario Is a much better looking game anyway...

If you want graphics go play a PC. If u want the best exclusive games (and portability), buy a Switch. Simple...

Congrats to BOTW as well lol. One of my favorite games of all time.

Sirk7x63d ago

I love my Switch, but the PS4 has a very enviable library. It's made me want to sell my Xbox due to lack of decent games. Only problem is I have over 200 digital games...

DarkKaine63d ago

That's a pretty bad comparison considering Knack's 'art' is something you'll find on free to play mobile games. Odyssey destroys it in the visual department. A turd still looks like shit, even if it's in 4K resolution.

Makes you wonder right? Companies spending millions plus on the presentation and look and leaving gameplay for what it seems last.
