The most underrated Final Fantasy of its day remains one of the best and affecting stories the series has ever told.
FFIX has the highest body count in the series. Everywhere that angel of death Zidane went eventually got wrecked
"Final Fantasy IX was a victim of bad circumstances. It released after the Playstation 2 in both Japan and North America, and it failed to sell as well as its two predecessors on the Playstation platform." Yet FFIX still sold better than most other PS1 regardless. "It did not get the time or the attention it deserved, and that's a shame." Except both Hironobu Sakaguchi and Nobuo Uematsu both stated it's their favorite in the series. Plus FFIX is widely regarded by fans as the best in the series and it always sells well as a PS1 Classic on PSN.
Imo FFUX is probably the best FF title next to FFVI
