While I sympathize some of the systems he or she names as maybe being confusing for a newcomer. I question the authors actual gaming background(or real world knowledge in general) when he or she didn't realize SMG's and shotguns were for up close encounters etc...

Agree, on that example.

As someone who has only played the Destiny 2''s beta (pc player) my biggest confusion was trying to figure out what was going on storywise.

Destiny's "story" is just your typical generic scifi nonesense. Perhaps Bungie will cook up an overview for PC gamers but in truth, after the campaign, nobody cares.
