Monolith Soft's Switch exclusive Xenoblade Chronicles 2 finally has a release date, just announced during the latest Nintendo Direct.
First of December?! EARLY CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR ME!!
Definitely awesome it's coming out this year, was expecting 2018
This is really great. Was expecting it to be delayed. I loved the first Xenoblade but I struggled liking Xeoblade X. This is definitely looking like a step up, and I'm starting to feel hyped. I'm not overly fond of the sexualised female protagonist though.
so BOTW ends up not being GOTY, what a twist.
XD That made me giggle a bit. Still, I can see why some people would want this more than Zelda, and it's awesome to see it coming out this year instead of being delayed.
The Switch does have a decent number of contenders this year. Pretty impressive for a first year.
I would say it is one of the most impressive first year showings for ANY new console in quite some time. Granted a number of the titles are ports, but they are still great.
Yeah it honestly still has to compete with Mario Odessy and Xenoblade 2 (less likely to be voted up in the mainstream) assuming they are good. The only contender for me personally with BOTW at the moment is Persona 5 though I'd still give the edge to BOTW.
I got that Collector's Edition pre-ordered! :)
Might be getting a switch for a family Christmas gift this year if I can find one. The switch library is already shaping up nicely!
by christmas it'll have a great library for first buyers to choose from.
holy crap, day one!
It looks really cool.. Im buying it for sure
The narration for this segment was unbearable.
Wow, I purchased Xenoblade Chronicles X a little while back for the Wiiu, it has since just been on my pile of shame, now there's a part 2 so quickly! Didn't the studio even help out with the new Zelda too? These guys can pump out games fast! Very impressed!
X is a long game, and this is a part 2 for the xenoblade that came out on the Wii............I do hope they make X part 2 also, I like X even tho most prefer the one on Wii
Too all those that didn't believe me when I said it was done because of the music and was coming this year still. Have that seat.
It's healthy to stay cautious, my friend. I'm glad the release date is this year, but it could have just as easily been delayed by unforseen circumstances.
That if the VA needed more work but they already had VA ready at E3 so I kinda knew it wasnt going to get delayed. Now if people had said Europe would get delay then yeah because multiple languages.
Long live Operation Rainfall
All hail Operation Rainfall
Why the heck are graphics worst than Xenoblade Chronicles X?. Are people sure the switch is powerful than the Wii U.
you need to take another look at xbc:x it was a terrible looking game and this is a huge step up.
I've just done that, Xbcx's environments are better detailed and vast. The character models seem better constructed as well in X, Here we have colorful anime models detached from everything else in the game. Seriously there's more. I just came from watching the direct and the game obviously seems downgraded from X. My two cents. edit: spelling
Different art styles. The Switch is literally quite a lot more powerfully than Wiiu. Mario Kart 8 Wiiu 720p 60FPS Mario Kart Switch 1080p 60fps. This game looks gorgeous and it's meant to look like XC1 not XCX. The Switch could run XCX and make it look even better than Wiiu version.
"Literally quite a lot" 😂 science, bro.
Gotta be honest, I'm pretty shocked it's actually coming out this year. I've been expecting a delay ever since they first mentioned a 2017 release date. If it really hits this year that will be fantastic.
you said if, after it has a release date, I doubt they change the date
I mean, I also doubt they would change the release date . . . But with the amount of delays this gen I can't shake the feeling that it's still a possibility.
i understand, i will send you a pic on here when I download december 1st
BOTW, Mario O, and Xenoblade 2. What a first year for the Switch. They have 3 exclusives fighting for potential GOTY.
It's gonna be hard to choose one. Japanese developers are on a role this year.
This is the only game that looks truly amazing outside zelda... Been playing mario for too damn long to get hype for it. If they announced a new golden sun or pikmin my head would go 😵
i am so all over this, I wont be on this site once it come out
Day before my birthday, aw yeah
so nice for switch fans. problem for me: not buying a system for 1 game. hope they are satisfied with their overall sales figures of this game. :/
Question for you chris, as I'm sure everyone on n4g is also wanting to ask - Why are you such a twat?
Easy he can't afford a Switch so he instead trolls online hoping to get noticed. lol
"finally".... what the hell.. game was announced in January 2017 and is releasing 12 months later! Finally.. should be reserved for every Ps4 game since 2013. This is why dualshockers is laughing stock of a website.. just ps fanboyism.
Well Monolith Soft started working on it as soon as the first Nintendo Switch Dev Kits were given to Nintendo Developers. They said it was in development before Xenoblade Chronicles X released in Japan. Which was March 2015. Meaning it started late 2014.
Do I need to play the original or the other one to get the most out of this? I assume so, since it's a sequel, but I just wanted to be sure. I've actually got both games, the original Wii game and the Wii U "sequel" / "spiritual successor" whatever it is, but I haven't even gotten around to either one yet! But I like to play my Switch on the go a lot, so I'm always looking for new Switch games, therefore I'm going to want to play this one pretty soon after release. Do I need to dig out the previous ones and play through them first, or will this one be fine as a standalone?
Even tho I don't have a Switch yet and just won't happen this year. I will be getting this game launch day. I'm a massive Xenoblade series fan.
holy shit...breath of the wild, mario, xenoblade, mario + rabbids all in one fucking year....2018 is stacked as well...we still got metroid prime, no more heroes 3, and a shit ton more games...
