The Summer 2017 Nindies Showcase showed Nintendo going the extra mile to make indie games valuable. These smaller games are becoming a really big deal!
Ben Sledge from TheGamer Writes "I’m already impressed with Supergiant’s commitment to improving body diversity in the Hades 2 technical test."
Players are taking to Reddit to let Bethesda know they want ghoulification added to Fallout 76 in a future update.
Hanzala from eXputer: "Contra: Operation Galuga, though nothing new and has some story issues, is still a love letter to Contra fans just wanting to shoot stuff."
I still see more indie games coming to PS4 than on XO. You just see Nintendo having conferences like this to make up for the fact that their console is losing out so much major third party support.
On a side note, I see this website finally has an article with a thumbnail that doesn't show cleavage, but it does show Mario sliding down a pole 😅
Nintendo just "one upped" the competition by showing indy support, something the competition has been doing for 10 years.
While I like smaller indie games a lot, Nintendo needs to bring the AA and AAA games too. Indies are good for the now as development of bigger titles takes time and we are still only 6 months in to the Switch, but it will be interesting to see some of their big guns the coming year, not just first party but second and third party.
Oh look Nintendo is interested in indie games after years of thrashing third party developers and stopping them from publishing their games in Nintendo devices...Never forget..
Also the indie game list in the Switch is minuscule in comparison to the PS4, so bragging about this is just sad but in the end this is probably the only thing they can brag about, cause look how many new Switch exclusives games have been released or announced, yep that list is pretty sad for this year, next year is even sadder.
