The limits for FIFA on Nintendo Switch

EuroGamer: "The Switch version of FIFA 18 is a bit of an oddity. It's certainly the most fully-fledged FIFA we've had outside of the console and PC versions - Ultimate Team on a handheld console is quite something - but it's also, for obvious reasons, still a more limited version next to all their Frostbite-powered glory."

yet provides you with something the competition can't. And that's portability. We all have to make sacrifices..

And yet NBA 2k18 has full feature parity and beautiful visuals, hmm..

Neonridr2422d ago

yeah, the only thing NBA is lacking is that it's 30fps on Switch and 60 on the other two. But visually and mode wise apparently it's the same, which is a great thing.

Well PS4 can providing you have Vita or a smartphone or a tablet and a decent connection to wifi or a hotspot. It's what has kept me sane over the last few weeks on my new night shifts. Being able to whip out my notebook and DS4 controller and remote play my games from my PS4. Amazing feature and probably one of the underrated features of the PS4.

Obviously not as straight forward as the switch (which has also kept me sane) but still offers some sort of portability with a few requirements.

Neonridr2421d ago

a few requirements:

- must be connected to the internet, and even that is a stretch because remote play sucks when you aren't on the same network as the PS4
- must spend $200 for an additional accessory to mimic the Switch

I wouldn't call that an ideal solution at all. I wouldn't even recommend it to someone, I would sooner tell them just to buy a Switch than a PS4 + Vita.

ocelot072420d ago (Edited 2420d ago )

I didn't say it was an ideal . It's just an option for someone who all ready owns a PS4 console. Am just going to pull a number out of my backside here but am going to assume someone who owns a PS4 probably owns an iPhone or an Android smartphone (around 70% or more I assume).

I personally never had an issue with remote play. Hence why I think it's one of the most underrated features on the PS4. When am in work doing a night shift I just connect to my works wifi and load up remote play on my notebook and it's works fine. I just stick to 720p resolution.

In my opinion as much as I like my switch. If I had to recommend someone who also works boring security night shifts like my self. Or travels to hotels a lot then the first option I would would suggest is PS4 + laptop bag + 7" LCD screen. That option probably works out around the same cost as a Nintendo Switch. Or leave PS4 at home and remote play to smartphone or tablet or laptop.

If you travel to parks or go on train rides or road trips a lot sure get a switch. So yes I stick by what I said originally. You say the "competition can't offer portability" when both Xbox and PS4 can just not as straight forward as the switch.

How long until they get sued and it gets taken down? I say a month or 2

PRIMORDUS1d 4h ago

Sued for what? It's just an emulator no ROMs are with it. ROMs are easy to get anyway, but with iPhone you can't just copy and paste like Android unless it's jail broken I think. Anyway Nintendo should be more concerned with their ROMs up to torrent for years for all of their concoles, but then again they can't do nothing about it, they never will and I love it. 🤣

NotoriousWhiz1d 2h ago

As long as it isn't emulating the Switch, it'll be fine.

RonnySins1d 2h ago

Naaah! Don't want to waste time emulating on iPhone.

Knightofelemia1d 1h ago

Won't belong before Nintendo bangs on Apple's door to have the emu removed. Like I say you take down one six more take it's place. Problem is people are putting emu's on such stupid platforms. The good emus are the ones not on stupid platforms like a red target. The good emu's are word of mouth and keep a low profile.
