Mighty No. 9 is a game that, rightfully in some cases, earned quite a bit of hate. But is all of that hate earned? Is the game really the train wreck that most would have you believe?
Mighty No.9 is in the same category as Yookah-Laylee as a spiritual successor that could never reach the heights of the series it was based on
This game is terrible. It also ruined Kickstarter for me.
No need to click the link, everyone here can answer this: Yes.
Honestly don't think the game itself is quite as bad as everyone makes out. But it doesn't look like it did early on in it's development. Everything looks downgraded... there is also a handful of cheap and annoying level design elements. I think the game is playable, I've actually finished it, but it could and should have been so much more than it was. I think more than anything that's what pissed people off.
Yes it is a bad game, a terrible game in fact. What makes a game good? There are a lot of elements that go into it but when you have a game mechanic that wants you to go as fast as possible but the level design does the opposite, your game has failed. Go look at Velocity 2x that does speed and level design perfectly.
