This week's Japanese sales include a Switch boost, first week sales for The Snack World and Mega Man Legacy Collection 2, and more.
Switch keeps chugging along at over double the PS4. Splatoon 2 is about to cross a million and it's been out less than a month.
I hope to get my switch by this holiday. Can't wait for metroid prime 4.
Don't worry. You have PLENTY of time until Metroid.
Its gonna be a long wait. They still haven't shown any gameplay beside a logo. I say it is a late 2018 to early 2019 release.
PS4 version of DQXI crossed 1 million sold second week. DQXI VS Splatoon 2 = 3:1
Your comments sound so insecure. Just because Dragon Quest has sold more doesn't mean Splatoon sales aren't great. Black Ops 3 on PS4 has outsold Uncharted 4, doesn't make Uncharted 4s sales bad.
where are your math skills Lime? This week DQXI sold 91k on PS4 vs Splatoon 2 selling 87k on Switch. Total sales are 1.2 million (DQXI) to 915k (Splatoon 2) quite a far stretch from 3:1 (it's actually 1.3:1) But keep making up whatever info helps you sleep at night. Does it also bother you that the 3DS version is outselling the PS4 version? 3DS DQ sold over 1 million in it's first week. Plus it's Dragon's Quest. Why wouldn't that game sell a ton on PS4? Splatoon 2 did 650k in its first 2 days. Not too bad for a cartoon shooter game.
Yeah on a 60 mil+ console vs a 5 million+ console. Fair right?
How many ps4's and 3ds units are out vs Nintendo switches?
Switch :0 The console that doesnt have DQ11 yet is the one flattening the others, amazing.
Weren't you saying that Splatoon 2 is bigger than DQ?
Weren't you the one saying that the PS4 would outsell the Switch in Japan after Dragon Quest launched?
1. PS4 and 3ds are much older than Switch ( larger installed base, more sales expected) 2. Splatoon 2s attach rate is currently about 85 % . all Switch owners already have it 3. 87k Switches and 87k copies of Splatoon 2, you do the maths, demand is WAY bigger than supply 4. think before posting. @Neonridr. so true, they never use logic to predict, analyse or discuss anything. Switch is the real deal in Japan we were right they were wrong ;)
There were so many people who were all over these sales charts when the Switch was hampered by supply and the PS4 over 2 SKU's was outselling it. Now the Switch is destroying PS4 sales and they are nowhere to be found.
okay, I wave the white flag Nintendo, Switch a monster.......bring those Jap games I cant wait for 2018, by then all those 3ds developers should have a game ready to show off for Switch
Its inevitable. The Switch will inherit the 3ds and Vita games.
It has already started, the momentum the NS has built in Japan is undeniable. Japanese companies are taking note especially with the Xone dead over there!!!
Insane sales for the Switch. It's selling almost 100,000 a week and people are still lining up in massive numbers to try and find one. Demand is huge and Monster Hunter hits next month. At this rate it could easily reach the lifetime Japanese sales of the Wii U in just the first year. With Pokemon coming, the Switch has the potential to outsell the Wii U's worldwide sales with just the Japanese sales alone. Here's hoping this means good things for Japanese third party support.
Monster Hunter? You mean 3DS port which underperformed? Real new MH is on everything exept Nintendo.
yeah.. let's compare sales of this new MH game compared to any 3DS title that released prior.
Monster Hunter Stories Underperformed, Monster Hunter XX is doing really well. Monster Hunter XX is the one being ported to the Switch
Well don't cry foul when that 3DS port sells gangbusters!!!
Nothing can stop Switch at this point, it will sell over 25 million in Japan.
Oh when Pokemon drops next year it will definitely hit near 10 million in Japan only during the holiday
It's a great turnaround for Nintendo. People were saying the Switch would be another Wii U but it's looking like the Japanese sales of the Switch should easily surpass the worldwide Wii U sales.
This is why third party devs should take the time to release their games on the Switch, even though it's a bit weaker. The mass amount of sales and demand for the console would give them much more revenue and ways to implement exclusive features.
So far, not a single third-party game on Switch sold over 100k in Japan.
because no big 3rd party games have released in Japan for Switch yet.
False. Super Bomberman R sold over 100K. So you're wrong once again.
My buddy got Bomberman with a bundle from Prime Day in Japan. Scraping over 100K including bundles is pretty laughable for a launch title.
I love reading all the comments with lime123 because he just keeps getting destroyed. Just not a good troll :)
A console with only first party games on the top 20 says everything!
Hmmmmm but seemingly selling better than consoles with their recent MAJOR 3rd party releases, "Who woulda thunk It???"
Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8D still in the top 5. Congrats Nintendo. I hope everyone get to enjoy Splatoon 2 as it is one of the most addicting games this generation (in my opinion).
Another stellar week for the Nintendo and Square Enix. So much for that Nintendo withholding Switch's conspiracy. Of course another big week for Nintendo also means another epic fail week for Lime123. He just can't catch a break. lmao
