Find out why Screen Critics Madison doesn't share the wider euphoria when it comes to Undertale. Did you like Undertale, or do you agree?
I won't know either way until Fangamer ships my PS4 copy next month.
I bought it based on reviews and seriously couldn't understand the praise. I'm sure it's good I just don't understand why.
This appears to be a new trend (or maybe I've never noticed as much).... Writing an article explaining why everyone else is wrong in their reviews and you are right. Just right your review and shut up.
The game is a masterpiece.
It's probably one those unexplainable gamer trends.
Overrated doesn't begin to describe it. It's dull and cringey, with a cancerous fanbase. I tried to like it, I wanted to like it, I kept hearing how great it was, but man, it was just bad.
It's a legitimately great game that gets bad rep because of its cancerous fanbase. To anyone who's yet to play it, don't let the crazy fans color your impression of the game and give it a try.
I really wish you had gone more into the actually interesting part of this, which would be the critical discussion part. You're absolutely right; like Undertale or don't, discussion around it is oft-toxic. I will say, though, the whole "it's not a true RPG" point is really weak in my opinion. You're getting more hung up on the way the game is categorized than on the game itself at that point. I'm all for writers vocalizing dissenting opinions, because it adds to the discourse, but there's just not much here.
The author of this article is actually censoring different opinions. I argued that here arguments were really weak, she did not come with any counterarguments, instead she said "i don´t have time to argue about petty nonsense", then she removed all my comments, shut down the ability to comment the article, and i just got an email from her boss, where the boss "threatened to take things further", if i didn´t stop "harass" his staff.
