"The first episode of Telltale Games’s Tales from the Borderlands launched on November 2014 to critical acclaim, and while the following episodes were also warmly received, the project was deemed a failure by the publisher."
It was an awesome game though
I remember the ending song
@purpleslim No, this one https://www.youtube.com/wat...
Agreed. It's still my favorite Telltale game to date. Would love a Season 2, but not counting on it.
It was my Game of the Year 2015. Absolutely loved it.
Did you play many games in 2015?
I love Tales from the Borderlands and the intro plus the music they did for episode 4 was great. I think this game is way better then the Game of Thrones one they did. The Game of Thrones one I found was boring and had to force myself to play. Hopefully Tales from the Borderlands Season 2 happens I really want to play the sequel.
Don't think so bro. I think I read somewhere, that Tales from the borderlands directly affects Borderlands 3. Whether or not it's confined to the Hyperion thing (no spoilers), the ending, or just the characters, I dunno though
I'm a fan of Tell Tale Games. I love their style of interactive storytelling. It reminds me of those choose your own adventure books I used to read as a kid.
Thats almost exactly what they are/do mate. I can enjoy a lazy afternoon going through half a series of Walking Dead or this(o similar releases)and not tax myself. However, Im still not happy saying these are "games" esp considering so many wouldnt accept Heavy Rain or even MGS4 as games. As for Tales From...? Was the best thing Telltale ever made as far as Im concerned. It fits well with Borderlands games in tone, story and acting. Im a little sad it hasnt worked out for them. Anyway, silly platinum but , hey..
That's really sad to hear😢 I personally loved it. It was extremely well done, and the amount of humor in it was great. I laughed so many times! I can't imagine not getting to see where all the characters go next.
Really I thought it was one of the best if not joint best (with Wolf Among Us) out of all the Telltale games.
Same. I'm guessing it's inability to reach mainstream like The Walking Dead is the issue.
It's strange to hear that it had such an uninspired development process, with the team broken to pieces before the project was even finished. It explains the long gaps between episodes though. They were some of, if not the longest gaps between episodes in any Telltale series to date. The truly disappointing thing about this is that Tales from the Borderlands may have been their truest, best adaptation to date. Tales from the Borderlands fit the world perfectly, and managed to mesh the characters and established plot elements to create a new but cohesive story that captivated and provided that Borderlands style of humor. I was deeply impressed, and during my brief stint as a professional reviewer, this was by far one of the best codes I got my hands on. I just hope the entire development team didn't mirror the director's feelings, because it seems like a lot of effort was put into making this an amazing title that was true to the Borderlands world and general canon.
That's a bit unfortunate. It was honestly my favorite Telltale game right next to The Wolf Among Us. And I;m saying this as I didn't have high expectation for Tales from the Borderlands.
I loved tales frim the borderlands my favorite one. Hopefully a sequel will do better.
Wow I guess people prefer dogsh*t and licensed stuff no matter how bad or rushed they are. It's easily my favorite thing from Telltale Games and made me love Borderlands even more.
I loved it and this sounds like Telltale will never make a season 2 :(
Funny, I think it is the best Telltale to date (Haven't played Batman and Minecraft though)
Well maybe if you stopped thinking doing games on popular games would automatically rake it in for you guys then this wouldn't have happened Do...something...original and actually push the genre like Quantic Dreams do
Can you elaborate more on how Quantic Dreams pushes the genre? I don't agree on your statement of them pushing the genre, their new game does not contain new gameplay features (most today's games don't), and the story is a not a new take on androids, rather the old existing arc of the realization of being an android and then wanting to be free from labor. Their new game's storytelling structure seems to be of resemblance to Heavy Rain's storytelling structure.
And their last games since then were failure for me.
Whaaaaat O.o I absolutely loved the game, how dumb fun it was, and the jokes and everything was so awesome. That shootout XDDDDD
Best Telltale game in my opinion, really sad to hear it didn't do so well for them.
In my opinion tales from the borderlands is the best telltale game except for maybe the wolf among us. If the core borderlands games had that kind of story they would Ben so much better.
Anything borderlands is fail imo
What's is that? I mean no hate, I'm just genuinely curious as to why you feel that way.
That's so weird, b/c I think most people thought Episode 5 was the funniest and funnest one!
i just could not get into a 60$ choose your own adventure.(on top of that it was episodic , that was a deal breaker from the door.) I would go out and purchase 10 paper copies of the old choose your adventure books, before i bought a tell tale game.
Dude their not 60 if you're going to criticize or troll at least have your information right
Deserved a GOTY award, good game
One of my favorite. Too bad crappy games like Minecraft Story Mode makes them money, that's what they will end up focusing on
