Not all of these are Nintendo games, just games that were exclusive to Nintendo platforms

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory2447d ago

okay......then if their exclusive to Nintendo platform then they are Nintendo games.

FallenAngel19842447d ago

1.) No they're not. Those games are the publisher that distributed those titles.

2.) The author clearly talks about Nintendo's own franchises in the description, yet somehow lists third party games as entrees to pad out the list.

zacian2446d ago

My bad! didn't think about it like that. Changed my titles to exclusives rather than Nintendo games -thanks for pointing that out!

A Nintendo game.. is a Nintendo game. You play a Nintendo game.. on a Nintendo platform.

In the end, whoever makes it?.. Doesn't mean anything.. You aren't playing James from the art direction team, or Terry from the online multiplayer team, or Sarah the lead story writer.. you're playing the GAME... Not the company. Not the brand. Not the studio location... The GAME.

..If that game isn't on any other platform, it's a Nintendo game. Nintendo owns it. Nintendo payed for it.

Drawing the line suddenly and saying, "HEY WAIT!.. That team isn't Japanese and isn't working in Nintendo's office so it doesn't count!!!"...

..Where was this debate the last several years Bloodborne existed?..

It didn't exist. I wonder why? ;)

FallenAngel19842446d ago

The argument didn't happen for Bloodborne because Sony owns the IP to that game just like they do with Demon's Souls, so it's unquestionably a Sony game.

That logic is heavily flawed. That's like saying every game regardless of the publisher is a Sony or Microsoft game if they are respectively exclusive to PlayStation or Xbox.

It's not a Nintendo game if Nintendo doesn't own the IP. Even the author of this article picked up on the mistake.

Only Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance was developed and/or published by Nintendo.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory2447d ago

Rune Factory 4 did extremely well on 3DS. It''s one of Marvelous best-selling game in the past decade.
Fire Emblem Path of Radiance is popular.

zacian2446d ago

I didn't realize it sold so well, my mistake. I've played all of them (DS/ 3DS and some of the wii ones) and was kind of shocked when I was on my eshop and saw Rune Factory 4 categorized as indie -that's why I put it on the list. I made sure now to note the 4th one is gaining in popularity! My impression of the Fire Emblem game was that it didn't do as well as the newer Fire Emblem installments and I thought it deserved more attention. Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah it strange it was listed under there. But it one of the best-selling third party games when you look at the amount of ratings it have. Maybe the series as whole need more spotlight but I am sure if they make a new one for Switch it would do a lot better.

It currently has a total of 7669 ratings. Last year it was reported to sold near 200K.

Good to hear! I made sure to change the wording a bit to reflect that. I hope this means there's more to look forward to, I would love a switch version
