Skewed and Reviewed have posted some gameplay from the new PSVR game Archangel. The game pits players against an army of ruthless enemies as they fight back with a giant mech.
Archangel is an action-packed, story-driven VR shooter where players are dropped into the cockpit of a six-story-high war-machine and stop a tyrannical corporation from taking over a post-apocalyptic America.
Archangel is a story-based, on-rails Virtual Reality game in which the player is tasked with controlling humanity’s last bastion of hope, a giant bipedal mech, to defend whatever is left of society. As one of VR’s few story-heavy games and Mech titles, Archangel has a lot of expectations to live up to, but does it succeed?

Archangel is a slick, entertaining action game that is relatively easy to pick up and play. The premise is fun and familiar, making it approachable if not perhaps particularly original. Still, it presents some of the sharper visuals in VR to date, and is a welcome port of the popular PlayStation VR game.
For their first outing, the team actually did a great job in many areas. Not a perfect game. Maybe not a game worth $39.99 but I understand production costs, but what's there definitely shows they have the fundamentals down.
The graphics and voice acting(needs lip sync though) are pretty good compared to current release games like Far point. The sound is great but could use more "ummph" on machine gun fire. Could be muted because you're inside the mech. But still could be more meaty. And enemies could put more effort and have more variety. Maybe they do on harder modes. I'll have to jump back in.
Overall, I liked it. Once I actually got the controls down, I felt powerful blocking shots with my shields and returning fire. Without giving away story, I do wish the enemy had stolen the plans and you got to fight an evil Archangel. The last boss was cool though. But definitely getting closer to that feeling of what it'd be like piloting a gundam or meganite(RAD).
Hope to see more from skydance. 7/10
I wish they had multiplayer but perhaps it can be added later.
