Capcom Announces the release date of the PS4 and Xbox One version of Resident Evil: Revelations, which will also come late this year for Nintendo Switch alongside Resident Evil: Revelations 2.
After 4 years of absence, the Resident Evil franchise finally returns to a Nintendo platform.
Exactly! These guys literally went years avoiding Nintendo platforms hopefully they also bring 2002 remake as well as Resident Evil Zero remaster. They might be trying to see how well the game does.
Lmao!!!!! No shame! 😂😂😂
It's great to see switch owners will get to enjoy this. I just hope the scope of the game wasn't severely scaled back to accommodate the switch.
Revelations was on the Wii U. Zero scaleback needed here.
As I said in another article. Literally every single Nintendo system handheld or console since Gamecube has had a RE game on it. I said RE would likely show up on NS in some form. Here it is. As a refresher GCN,DS,Wii,Wii U,3DS all had RE games. The real question is will NS get a mainline RE game at some point? Not had one since 4. While I dunno if 7 will I do know Capcom was working ion the RE engine for RE7 to work on Switch. So maybe?
You mean almost every Nintendo platform since N64 & GBC, which were a part of the same generation that Resident Evil started. GBA seems to be the only exception
Yes why I said Gamecube because since Gamecube not one system has been skipped.
Well, if these had been completed, there'd be no exceptions: Resident Evil for GBC: https://youtu.be/PRCd2VVmLX... Resident Evil 2 for GBA: https://youtu.be/9va7ugOy5v...
What you couldn't deny that from 2013 to now there was a bizarre absence. I don't know about Resident Evil 7 only because I'm not sure we're going to see current Resident Evil games on their platforms similar to us not really seeing Resident Evil 5 and 6 on the Wii. But we might see Resident Evil 7 ported to their next platform if you consider Revelations is being ported to the switch. I don't know when the last time a Resident Evil game actually launched on or around the same generation as on other platforms as well as a Nintendo platform. Resident Evil 4 might actually be the last time that's actually happened. So I'm not too sure about Resident Evil 7 or Resident Evil 2 remake. If anything we might see Resident Evil 4 which I actually thought would have been the first game to be ported to the switch as stated in that previous thread when we were talking about Resident Evil. Or even Resident Evil 5 or 6. Resident Evil has clearly how to history on Nintendo platforms but for a long time clearly it has not had a history of releasing its current generation Resident Evil games on Nintendo platforms during the same gen. ie Resident Evil 5 , 6, Revelations 2 etc
blah blah blah wall of text no one is reading of your excuses and somehow likely downplaying this.
@Sega- what excuse? I guessed RE4 was coming, and Revelations came instead. and? lol Why bitter? be happy RE is coming to Switch at all. Whats to down play? This isn't Resident Evil VII bud
With all these news about the Resident Evil: Revelations series, one can only hope they put out a Resident Evil: Revelations 3.
I hope so only because Revelations 2 sold pretty poorly. I don't know which part of their team would make Revelations 3 considering they're working on Resident Evil 2 remake impossibly Resident Evil 8. Well who knows to be honest I'm not sure that the team that did Resident Evil 2 remake is even the one that actually did Revelations 2 so for all we know they're working on the third game right now.
Wait, so Revelations 2 is ALSO hitting the Switch? Sweet. It'd be grand if they do a double pack deal for the Switch; I'd buy that, especially if motion aiming is an option. I guess that should shut up the naysayers that were squawking about NS not getting any RE games/any big-name third party games.
I'm only buying this game if it has gyroscope aiming. After Splatoon, going back to standard dual stick just feels too clunky.
yeah if this comes as a two pack I am sold. I played Revelations on my Wii U, but I would gladly double dip to get this enhanced version along with Part 2.
Switch version at retail is $40 and is Revelations 1 and includes download for Revelations 2.
@LAWSON72 - if that is the case, I am definitely sold.
It's a collection for $40. The first game comes on a cartridge with a download voucher for Revelations 2.
Nintendo are moving units and the 3rd party Switch games cometh. Good stuff!
Yes, the third party games that came out years ago, lol.
@fleecejohnson75 It really irritates some "Gamers" whenever anything 'positive' is commented on the Nintendo Switch platform. Bluefox755 will get over him/herself someday ...of that I'm sure /././
I imagine that the absence of a physical version for Revelations 2 has to do with the game'size and the willingness of the company to save some change with the cartridges. But other than that are good news for the console, I hope Capcom will continue to suport the platform.
Interesting.. where's my buddy EDMIX at.
I was just about to post the same question... Strange, he is usually one of the first people to post a wall of text in a Nintendo thread. Surely he is sharing in the good news.
lol.. I can just imagine him sharing in the positive Switch news ;)
I was just looking at the comments he made about Capcom "not going" to release more Switch games.... damn hilarious, 3 days and boy do things change.
Probably about to spin it by saying "Oh a port big deal" or "Oh it'll be the worst version". As usual.
You know he'll try and cover it up with a wall of nonsense saying how it isn't RE7 for Switch.
Waitaminute...could have sworn I read that Capcom was not going to port RE to Switch!??....where did I read that this would not happen....
He's the reason I made my post earlier in the comment section. Claiming no RE game would come to it. Told him RE hasn't skipped a Nintendo system since Gamecube.
N64 had resident evil 2.....it's never skipped a Nintendo system, but Ed doesn't listen to that
Not really even I was saying in that exact same post that Resident Evil 4 might come to the platform. I assumed Resident Evil 4 would come before Revelations 1 and 2 port.
@EDMIX - hey buddy.. just teasing you. All in good fun. Although your timing about questioning the existence of these Resident Evil games on Switch was a little too good to be true :P
@Neo- "hey buddy.. just teasing you" No problem Neo. You win some, you lose some. It was hard to read what Capcom was going to do considering their statements about Resident Evil and not putting out a Nintendo version in years, I assumed it'd be RE4 regardless, pretty surprised it was Revelations 1 and 2 considering 2 didn't sell that well. I see RE4 coming still though. How I see it, how am I suppose to know when Capcom states no Resident Evils coming to Switch, mean Resident Evils coming to Switch lol It was a guess that had some basis, but it happens.
@Edmix "...how am I suppose to know..." The fact that you went around in multiple articles saying how Capcom would not bring a RE game to the Switch is why a lot of people are pointing to now. We all knew you had no real idea of this and it was silly for you to even pass off your comments as fact when we all knew (including you) that you had no real proof of this. Especially when Capcom has stated numerous times in the past that they would support the Switch, you still were here adamant and replying to anyone you thought cared that no RE would make it to the Switch. Now here we are with RE Revelations and a RE 4 coming to the Switch. "how am I suppose to know when Capcom states no Resident Evils coming to Switch" I don't even remember Capcom even saying this, they said they had no plans for RE7 coming to Switch but that didn't mean that no other RE's would make it.
@EDMIX - I wouldn't be surprised to see RE4 come out of the depths again. That game has been remade more times than I can count, lol. It's almost like if Capcom is fresh out of ideas some dude in their meeting room says "Hey guys, let's just remake Resident Evil 4 again". I swear there is like 10 different versions of that game now :P I am hopeful for an RE7 port, but who knows. Maybe Capcom will look at bringing 5 and 6 to the Switch first instead or something..
EDMIX guy about to eat dirt, He was wrong in his other post tho, street fighter 4 sold well on 3ds, and resident evil revelations for 3ds sold so well they bring it to consoles because port beggars, so he was wrong about all of Capcom sales.......
Stoked for these games - always love horror on-the-go!
Would anybody be opposed to the GameCube version of resident evil 4 I think it was on the switch?
definitely prefer the Wii version with the added aiming controls.
I would definitely play that again on Switch.
Been a dog's age since I gave it a go, so I'd be down with that.
I assumed Resident Evil 4 was going to be on the switch before Revelations considering Nintendo always porting that game to their systems. But I guess many people love to forget that I actually said that in order to aim for a narrative =)
@Real- Well, thats what I orignially thought. "We might see RE4 on Switch as Capcom loves putting that game on Nintendo hardware, but lately they've been hesitant to put RE titles on them, but RE4 might be a port that might happen" and "I see RE4 being ported, I see maybe even a Chronicles" I saw RE4 being ported way before Revelations 1 and 2 considering how poorly 2 did and RE4 being their cash cow. http://n4g.com/news/2084839... but after almost 4 years of not putting RE on Nintendo systems, I'm surprised we are seeing any Resident Evil game on there at all considering their comments. Clearly they want to see if they can still make money on the IP on that system. "All of the DLC released for the original game will also be included as unlockable rewards. The price for both platforms will be $19.99" Awww, thats nice. So it won't be full price for Switch owners.
Glad to see the switch getting good Support. This is what I mean by letting the switch prove itself.
Here we go... again... for the third time...
Tough choice to pick PS4 or Switch.
They shouldve just put revelations 1 & 2 on the same disc.. This is a waste
This is Capcom we are talking about. I see whats going on. Capcom announces Revelations 1 & 2 for the Switch only to later announce that planned Revelations 3 follow-up will not be coming to the Switch because reasons. lol
Revelations was on the DS. Isn't this just a re release? This is a portable iteration of resident evil that's why it's coming to the switch. There is no resident evil 7 for the switch. That's wishful thinking
2 wasn't on any Nintendo platform.
