After 4 years of absence, the Resident Evil franchise finally returns to a Nintendo platform.

_-EDMIX-_351d ago

Exactly! These guys literally went years avoiding Nintendo platforms hopefully they also bring 2002 remake as well as Resident Evil Zero remaster.

They might be trying to see how well the game does.

Septic351d ago

Lmao!!!!! No shame! 😂😂😂

CaptainObvious878351d ago

It's great to see switch owners will get to enjoy this.

I just hope the scope of the game wasn't severely scaled back to accommodate the switch.

Neonridr350d ago

Revelations was on the Wii U. Zero scaleback needed here.

As I said in another article. Literally every single Nintendo system handheld or console since Gamecube has had a RE game on it. I said RE would likely show up on NS in some form. Here it is. As a refresher GCN,DS,Wii,Wii U,3DS all had RE games. The real question is will NS get a mainline RE game at some point? Not had one since 4. While I dunno if 7 will I do know Capcom was working ion the RE engine for RE7 to work on Switch. So maybe?

PhoenixUp351d ago

You mean almost every Nintendo platform since N64 & GBC, which were a part of the same generation that Resident Evil started.

GBA seems to be the only exception

Segata351d ago

Yes why I said Gamecube because since Gamecube not one system has been skipped.

BlackWolf351d ago (Edited 351d ago )

Well, if these had been completed, there'd be no exceptions:

Resident Evil for GBC:
Resident Evil 2 for GBA:

What you couldn't deny that from 2013 to now there was a bizarre absence.

I don't know about Resident Evil 7 only because I'm not sure we're going to see current Resident Evil games on their platforms similar to us not really seeing Resident Evil 5 and 6 on the Wii.

But we might see Resident Evil 7 ported to their next platform if you consider Revelations is being ported to the switch.

I don't know when the last time a Resident Evil game actually launched on or around the same generation as on other platforms as well as a Nintendo platform.

Resident Evil 4 might actually be the last time that's actually happened.

So I'm not too sure about Resident Evil 7 or Resident Evil 2 remake.

If anything we might see Resident Evil 4 which I actually thought would have been the first game to be ported to the switch as stated in that previous thread when we were talking about Resident Evil.

Or even Resident Evil 5 or 6.

Resident Evil has clearly how to history on Nintendo platforms but for a long time clearly it has not had a history of releasing its current generation Resident Evil games on Nintendo platforms during the same gen.

ie Resident Evil 5 , 6, Revelations 2 etc

Segata351d ago

blah blah blah wall of text no one is reading of your excuses and somehow likely downplaying this.

_-EDMIX-_351d ago

@Sega- what excuse? I guessed RE4 was coming, and Revelations came instead.

Why bitter? be happy RE is coming to Switch at all.

Whats to down play? This isn't Resident Evil VII bud

PhoenixUp351d ago

With all these news about the Resident Evil: Revelations series, one can only hope they put out a Resident Evil: Revelations 3.

_-EDMIX-_351d ago

I hope so only because Revelations 2 sold pretty poorly.

I don't know which part of their team would make Revelations 3 considering they're working on Resident Evil 2 remake impossibly Resident Evil 8.

Well who knows to be honest I'm not sure that the team that did Resident Evil 2 remake is even the one that actually did Revelations 2 so for all we know they're working on the third game right now.

wonderfulmonkeyman351d ago (Edited 351d ago )

Wait, so Revelations 2 is ALSO hitting the Switch?
Sweet. It'd be grand if they do a double pack deal for the Switch; I'd buy that, especially if motion aiming is an option.

I guess that should shut up the naysayers that were squawking about NS not getting any RE games/any big-name third party games.

NotoriousWhiz351d ago

I'm only buying this game if it has gyroscope aiming. After Splatoon, going back to standard dual stick just feels too clunky.

Neonridr351d ago

yeah if this comes as a two pack I am sold. I played Revelations on my Wii U, but I would gladly double dip to get this enhanced version along with Part 2.

LAWSON72351d ago

Switch version at retail is $40 and is Revelations 1 and includes download for Revelations 2.

Neonridr351d ago

@LAWSON72 - if that is the case, I am definitely sold.

Sirk7x351d ago

It's a collection for $40. The first game comes on a cartridge with a download voucher for Revelations 2.

FoxyGotGame351d ago

Nintendo are moving units and the 3rd party Switch games cometh. Good stuff!

bluefox755351d ago

Yes, the third party games that came out years ago, lol.

It really irritates some "Gamers" whenever anything 'positive' is commented on the Nintendo Switch platform. Bluefox755 will get over him/herself someday ...of that I'm sure /././
