It's high time for video games to start approaching their narratives from a different angle.
I like the idea of different kinds of narrative but the best case is one where we have different types of narratives. i don't think one trumps the other if both are refined and cleverly delivered. Saying that we shouldn't have cinematic games because movies are better is the same thing as saying that games should have parameters. This goes against the art of interactive entertainment which is much more open to different ideas and in that way makes the art stronger and more flexible. Movies are similar where you can have a store told from any point of view. Lets not limit ourselves..
