Those who expected that the next Half-Life title would at least provide an ending to Gordon Freeman’s story would be disappointed.
We live in a world where the previously mythological games such as Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts 3, Shenmue 3, Persona 5, Metroid Prime 4, Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, Ni-Oh, Doom 4, Psychonauts 2, Crash Bandicoot: N-Sane Trilogy, Final Fantasy VII Remake, The Last Guardian, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, Beyond Good or Evil 2 & Darksiders 3 are actually real and were either released last year, this year, next year, or many years from now. Hell we even got a new Bubsy game of all things coming out soon and Atari is talking about releasing a new console. But we still can't even get Half Life 3 😆
i want for valve to give the IP to respawn. they proved their skills with source and their superb writing in titanfall 2 so please do it valve.
I'm part of the minority that doesn't really care about Half Life 3. I loved the first Half Life, but didn't get into the second one all that much.
Take a page from the recent wolfensteins and doom games. There is still more than enough room in today's markets for a great single player fps experience. You had the physics engine to make awesome physics related puzzles, continue that. Quit trying to be typical valve and not allowing anything to be developed that doesn't push gaming forward in extreme ways. Are you waiting for VR? Cuz screw that, VR is not in a place it needs to be to allow for an amazing fps experience. Just finish the damn story or bring it to some sort of conclusion. Valve is a bunch of money grubbing chumps these days who aren't interested in making games anymore it seems. Used to love these guys but I could care less now. Make valve great again.
I think it's time to just let it go.
I'd like Valve to become a publisher and make a deal with an external developer to either make HL3 or make a Reboot which will lead into HL3.
