Says porting to PS4 Pro isn't too much effort.
Which game are these guys working on?
Ummm... the Redout dev is working on, wait for it... Redout.
Lmfao 😂😂😂 Give him some time maybe he just woke up
lol makes sense.
Or maybe he's laggin. Lol
He needs breakfast.
Yeah it is Monday he might of had a big weekend and still recovering.
He needs sum milk!
Honestly I'm glad you asked. I mistakenly read the title as "Reddit: Dev is optimizing..."
You had a blackout.
Hey what 😃
The game is RedOut. The name is in the title. This game was running at 1080P / 60fps on the PS4 wasn't it? Not really surprised it's running at native 4K / 60fps on the PS4 Pro. Don't really see anything in the game that would tax or slow the system down. Is this a sequel to Wipeout?
Don't let these guys put you down for not knowing this bargain bin bound game that I too never heard of.
According to the dev, optimization like 4K and 60 frames seconds take time and they can't promise it but hey! it's no effort! Instead of focusing on 4k for pro they should make sure that this version of WIPEOUT includes a PSVR mode like the pc version.
I was confused too.
@Petebloodyonion Lol. I see what you did there.
Yup! Day One 4Pro purchase. Finally a game to push the limits of the system.
isn't that what Wipeout Omega does on the ps4 pro, running at native 4k/60?
LOL!! This game and Wipeout aren't pushing the PS4 Pro at all. They both were running at 1080P 60fps on the OG PS4. Horizon: Zero Dawn is pushing the system. We know this because it's not running in native 4K / 60fps.
What a dumb thing to say. If this game isn't pushing the ps4 pro at all, then why does it drop to 4k checkerboarding instead of native when you turn on motion blur? Shouldn't it have all this extra power left over??? And yes, Wipeout runs at 1080/60 on the original ps4. It also runs at 4k, which is FOUR TIMES THE RESOLUTION on the ps4 pro, from a console that's only about 2 times as powerful in gpu and 30% more powerful in cpu.. So...what's your point?
@armchairDev My point is Wipeout and Redout are not pushing the limits of the PS4 Pro. If both games are running in native 4K / 60fps. The games are open world and aren't overly complex. How many hover riders are on the track at once? 5 or 6? If they had to checkboard render either of these games, that's pretty bad.
Incorrect. It takes all the power the PS4 Pro has to run it at native 4k/locked 60. Of course it's not an open world, that doesn't mean the game isn't very detailed. And in order for the framerate to be locked, 60 must be the minimum. It needs to render closer to 80-90fps in reality. I'm so sick of people that have never programmed anything thinking they know better than the developers do. By the way, on the PC version of Redout, you need about a 4 teraflop gpu to be able to run it at 4k/60, just like on the ps4 pro...
Crackdown 3 in SP is also not pushing x, i wonder why its 30fps...
@ModiJi I don't know what they are doing with Crackdown 3. Seems they start programming it for the XB1 and never really upgraded it for the XB1X. I'm not even sure if the gameplay they showed was for the XB1X or the OG XB1. Guess we'll find out more at GamesCom. Either way, it's not pushing the XB1X.
Won't have 4k assets though and can guarentee it will be cb 2160p
How do you know that?
In Cerny we trust
Hhmm.. he couldn't even get his own game Knack to run at 1080P / 60fps. He designed the hardware. I really hope Knack 2 is 1080P / 60fps on PS4 and native 4K / 60FPS on PS4 Pro. Cerny could redeem himself.
Knack is a PS5 title... He worked miracles to bring such a grand game to the PS4. Cerny with his giant brain could port gta5 to my calculators. His brain is that powerful. Here's to Cernys humongous brains. Let's just hope it doesn't crush us all.
Lmao. Native 4k/60 on Knack 2. Keep dreaming...
@SkippyPaccino, Knack was not a great game. Knack is not a PS5 title. Even Knack 2 will be on the PS4/Pro. Yes, Cerny is a smart guy, but he's not perfect. He help make some of my favorite games includes Major Havoc, Marble Madness, Kid Chameleon, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Jak & Daxter and the Ratchet and Clank games. So he has a great resume. Knack seemed like it was a rushed game though. It's FPS would drop from 30fps to 14fps. That shouldn't have with a game like Knack on the PS4. I'm sure he'll get it right with the sequel.
XanderZane, SkippyPaccino is being painfully sarcastic. And I must disagree about what you wrote regarding Cerny not being able to get it running at gold standard. It's a launch title for a console made by the architect who directed it, not developed it personally. In fact, he mentioned in an interview concerning Knack 2 that the developers learned the hardware better and are programming a better sequel accordingly. The DEVELOPERS. Cerny is the director.
Seriously...one interview but two separate article links? Gamingbolt is so dumb.
