Goods on them. Please knock some of that ego off NVidia.

well the video says other wise, not sure where the title came from. witcher 3 was faster on 1080 all the time.

ninjazfistz132d ago

The 1080 had a lead at certain sequences and so did frontier. It was very close honestly for this title.

cartoonx1132d ago

lol at disagrees check the video again. in witcher 3 it's 1080 that's faster not vega.

cartoonx1132d ago

@ninja that doesnt matter, what matters is the title is absolutely wrong.

ninjazfistz129d ago

@cartoonx1 The game runs great on both cards and when idling the frontier has it beat by a few frames consistently which might be where they are coming from. I do see where you are coming from except the statement that it was faster at every sequence. I'm sure they could pick a few other titles that the frontier would smash the 1080 on. Keep in mind also that the witcher and gta5 usually run better on nvidia cards.

This was pretty good results actually. Hopefully the vega gaming version can trade blows with the ti. Most importantly, we hope we see that price drop considerably.

Uh the sad part is it should we talking 1000d card versus 500 1080 wtf

ABizzel1132d ago

Once again as I'm sure you've seen plenty of times in several other threads, the Vega Frontier is not a dedicated gaming GPU, and it being used a placeholder to get a range of benchmarks for the true Vega gaming GPU that's scheduled to launch later this month. This is just the expected range for that GPU.

This $1,000 GPU is not designed for gaming.

cartoonx1132d ago

its a titan x class card, it's not a firepro card. if titan can do gaming better at similar price this should not be excuse here.

FinalFantasyFanatic132d ago

Your right @ABizzel1, the amount of people that screw this up and judge Vega based on Frontier is astounding, you do not base gaming performance on a workstation card.

cartoonx1131d ago (Edited 131d ago )

@FinalFantasyFanatic - Vega frontier is not a Firepro(workstation) replacement, it's a titan x competitor. its funny how everyone calling vega fe a workstation grade card when it cant compete with nvidia's high end in gaming. vega is missing many feature that a firepro card have. there is a reason amd dont calls it firepro or price it similar coz it's not.

"The Radeon Vega Frontier Edition graphics card is going to empower the pioneers creating the next generation of gaming experiences, but it does beg one question: Can you game on a Radeon Vega Frontier Edition? The answer is yes, absolutely. But because this graphics card is optimized for professional use cases (and priced accordingly), if gaming is your primary reason for buying a GPU, I’d suggest waiting just a little while longer for the lower-priced, gaming-optimized Radeon RX Vega graphics card. You’ll be glad you did."

Pulled directly from their website. This card was not developed for gaming. The Vega series which is rumored to be 2 GPUs, one between a GTX 1070 and 1080, and the other much is likely to be better performing than the Vega Frontier, which will put it ahead of a 1080 and closer to a 1080 ti. What matters from that point is pricing.
