N64 Mini – What Games Would You Like To See?

With the release of the SNES Classic Mini it’s only right to think that we could be on the way to getting an N64 Mini loaded with a few games.... But what games? HGR takes a look!

Good list, I would definitely add Diddy Kong Racing, Blast Corps, Smash Bros, Banjo Kazooie, Mario Golf, Shadows of the Empire / Rogue Squadron as possible additions as well.

Diddy Kong Racing was in the list, but got cut as we had to get the list down to 10.... So many games! It's more than likely if an N64 Mini is released there will be double what we've put so the games you've mentioned have a chance! :D

Neonridr2478d ago

yeah definitely. You would have to figure the final number would be in the 15-20 range for sure.

I'd rather have two kart racers than two Zeldas.

Body Harvest for a left field choice. Underrated little gem back in the day.

NotoriousWhiz2478d ago

I just want both Mystical Ninja games. Everything else is a bonus.

Sorry to say but only GoldenEye and Mario Kart 64 would be the ony games I would even consider (and I played) on the N64. This system was one of the worse consoles Nintendo released. Especially coming off of the supreme, ridiculousness of the SNES.

The list is mediocre to compared to what we have seen on the NES/SNES mini, not to mention MS now owns the rights to Perfect Dark. And having a wrestling game on the list...just goes to show how awful the N64 was.

Neonridr2478d ago

Ocarina of Time / Majora's Mask or Super Mario 64 aren't games you would consider playing?

The Wrestling game is obviously the author's personal favorite. I always liked WWE vs NWO World Tour on 64 myself.

but plenty of awesome Nintendo 64 games to pull from.

gangsta_red2478d ago

I have to be honest, those two were good games but not the best Zelda's I played. I am still a fan of Link to the Past.

There are a few scattered N64 games that are good but not nearly enough to have a superior list like you would have for a SNES or NES mini. And not nearly enough to scour the streets looking for one on your local shelf or behind some ally being scalped by a shady RE:4 vendor.

PurpHerbison2478d ago

"The Wrestling game is obviously the author's personal favorite"

And many, many, many, others. There is a reason NO Mercy is placed on a pedestal. Even to this very day a wrestling game has yet to top it.

Neonridr2478d ago

@gangsta_red - yeah LTTP is my favorite all time. I think that is why I enjoyed a Link Between Worlds so much.

No, the SNES was by far the best Nintendo console in my books. I mean the SNES Mini has a great list of games but you could make a case for SO many more to be on there. The 64 definitely doesn't have as much, but there shouldn't be a problem putting together a solid 15-20 titles..

And I was wrong about the wrestling game, it was WCW vs NWO World Tour (can't edit my original comment).

You just stepped all over my childhood gangsta. Not cool man.

gangsta_red2478d ago

I promise my feet were clean. ;)

Rando1ph2477d ago

Mario 64, Turok series, and both Zelda games were very solid. Admittedly the 64 (and beyond) the consoles didn't have as many good tittles. But the good titles are still good. I'd like to see rouge squadron personality...

gangsta_red2477d ago

The good titles are definitely the best but my thing is it worth hunting down a N64 mini and potentially paying way over the market price?

Horseygamer2478d ago

worth just it for Zelda ocarina of time

Make your next GPU upgrade AMD as these latest-gen Radeon cards receive a special promotion

AMD has long been the best value option if you're looking for a new GPU. Now even their latest Radeon RX 7000 series is getting cheaper.

Best for the money is the Arc cards

just_looken1d 17h ago

In the past yes but last gen amd has gotten cheaper and there new cards are on the horizon making 6k even cheaper.

The arc cards are no longer made by intel but asus/asrock has some the next line battlemage is coming out prices tbd.

Do to the longer software development its always best to go amd over intel if its not to much more money even though intel is a strong gpu i own 2/4 card versions.
