Vivendi remains determined to make a hostile move on Ubisoft to gain control of the French company. The move would probably take place later this year.
If true that's terrible news for gaming. Hopefully Ubisoft can find investors with enough capitol to stop it.
Fully agree, they probably saw how Ubisoft had a much better lineup than Activision with less resources and now are trying to take advantage. Vivendi is cancer and I hope Ubisoft stays independent.
Viviendi doesnot own Activision anymore i think .. the article says too
Hostile is harder to stop it requires stockholders selling directly to investors
Damn, I didn't realize they were still threatening this.
This is disturbing, I wish the best for Ubisoft.
Lol I love how nonchalant they are in trying to purchase them. I definitely hope they could get the funding to stop something like this from happening cuz Vivendi is pretty much like AIDS
Eff off Vivendi
Hopefully Ubisoft will the find a way to stop Vivendi.
I wonder what made Vivendi return to gaming in the first place. Remember, not that long ago, they owned Activision/Blizzard. They let them go and totally left gaming, Now a few years later they want in again? But I guess this kind of thing can happen to any company that's publicly traded.
Good, take them over. Fed up of their broken games and microtransaction abuse anyway. Still remember the awful DRM days on PC.
Vivendi probably won't solve that problem with Ubi. They are more about the money than Ubisoft is.
If Vivendi take them over it will be even worse.
They both sound as bad as each other so may as well give Vivendi a chance, Ubisoft have had too many chances: Look at the Crew at launch Look at the boring game that is Wildlands Look at the tragedy that Unity was at launch and still not fixed to this day Look at For Honor microtransaction abuse Look at The Division Look at how long they literally abused PC gamers with DRM This is why I couldn't care less and am always up for change. They will either be as bad or better not much worse.
I wish Vivendi buy the crap out of them... they are not doing gamers any favor... The Division is crap, The Crew was crap, For Honor is crap, GR Wild lands is crap only Rainbow Six and FarCry are decent games in their portfolio for now and i´m mega pissed with them since the division so yes Vivendi Buy the crap outofem...
How do you even know that such a company is even going to do a good job? With the exception of Rainbow Six I don't even own any of the games that you mentioned but considering their sales in even reviews I would argue there far from crop some of those games of even broke records for that company. I've noticed that most people largely exaggerated to just a ridiculous degree those games being bad. I mean I don't play those games but I definitely don't think they're really that bad to have such a response. But then again it could be because I only played Rainbow Six. If you play those games I guess I could take your word for it but I still think it sounds Mega exaggerative. If I ever buy the division I'll buy it knowing exactly what it actually is. Knowing it's basically an MMORPG I'm just not sure what I would hate about it in regards to its core concept it's kind of self-explanatory in terms of what it's trying to deliver and I haven't really heard much specific things on what make it bad other than people's subjective responses. To each their own
I don]t know if they will do a good job but i know that Ubisoft is doing a terrible job so i]m ready to try something different.
I'm 100% positive it will only get worse. For Vivendi this is all just 100% about the money, it's a business deal. The are going to milk everything for as much as they can. Yes, Ubi is a for profit company now as well, but it's still run by people who love gaming, Vivendi is a large company, so if you think Ubi now is not doing gamers any favours, then wait until Vivendi steps in who don't give a crap about gamers at all...
This is great news. Ubisoft has been ruining their franchises lately so hopefully they'll buy them out & make them stop that shit.
The only reason I hope this doesn't happen is because Beyond Good & Evil 2 just got announced.
