1UP: Duke Nukem 3D Review

If there's a weakness here, it's that the game doesn't fill up your whole TV screen -- it's sized within two static "border" graphics. This is probably a holdover from the computer monitor aspect ratio the game was originally designed for, and it sucks that 360 players need to sacrifice a considerable amount of their screen real estate to wallpaper. Other than that, there's not much to dislike about Duke. It's not for the kiddies, but if you've got 800 Marketplace points lying around, you oughta come get some.

It was fun 12 years ago. Sadly like most XBL games I bought the retro novelty factor soon wore off and I was left wishing I hadn't wasted my money. Contrast that to the Playstation Network's recent release of Wipeout HD which for £11.99 will give many more hours of gaming offline and online.

What does this have to do with ps3 or wipeout?

You do realise that 800MS points is about £6.80, yeah? Pretty poor comparison imo.

The comparison is valid. Ignore the fact that its Wipeout on the PS3 and look at the gameplay on offer here. On one hand you have a quick and easy port of an old PC title in the form of Duke Nukem 3D and on the other you have a game like Wipeout HD - a modern title really showing off the power of the console its played on with far greater replay value for a few pounds more. I'll admit to a few impulse buys on XBL myself such as Doom and Golden Axe to name two but as I said the novelty value quickly wore off and the games went untouched.

You cannot even co0mpare duke nukem to wipeout......Duken Nukem is a classic....

If you buy games and then dont play them then to bad for you.....but I know a hell of a lot of people who buy these games and play them to death...
