Proud (former) owner of a Commodore 64, and even at that early stages of Video Games entertainment there were people fighting on which was better the Commodore or the Spectrum. Or the Commodore Amiga and the Atari XT. Those were good times !

I was one of the spectrum owners, i remember being quite jealous of the kids that had the c64, the games on that machine had awesome music, a friend of mine even made me a mix tape of game music from the c64, i listened to it loads. Skipped c64 and went straight onto an atari ST, another great machine.

I had an Atari XL, later on an Atari ST, then an Atari TT....

Still have the XL and ST, lost the TT in a breakup, sigh....

Aenea2554d ago

Atari ST actually..... (also way better than Amiga, of course! kidding, kidding!)

There was also C 64 vs. Atari XL (not in UK, but in US, Germany, etc.), ZX Spectrum was more popular in UK than anywhere else.

I remember just wanting them all, sigh.....

Einhander19712554d ago

Still got the legendary C64, great thing is games are still being made for it :)

MultiConsoleGamer2554d ago

Growing up I was a big fan of the C64 and the Amiga. However I always read about the Spectrum and always wanted one for myself. It had a lot of great and unique titles that still really stand up well today.

Aenea2554d ago

I was more on the Atari side of things (XL and ST), but I wanted the Commodores and Sinclair machines as well (don't forget the Sinclair QL! Same Motorola 68K CPU as Amiga and ST!), but also the Amstrad CPC-464 and BBC Micro! ohh and what about those MSX machines!

I wanted them all! Sigh, if only I had had the money back then! :)

MultiConsoleGamer2553d ago

I feel the same way, I wanted everything. Also loved Atari computers. Huge of fan of that company during that era.

Microsoft should have left them stay 3rd party

GamerRN5h ago

If they are let go, they can be whatever they want. They ARE 3rd party now... 🤦

Barlos2h ago

Yeah, they're also jobless.

PassNextquestion7h ago(Edited 7h ago)

Bethesda France was made up of roughly 15 people... they couldn't of being doing much

Bethesda France mainly did publishing and marketing within the region

blacktiger5h ago

that's a shame for you to say that, i'm sure Elite loves hearing what you just said.

Profchaos7h ago(Edited 7h ago)

Bethesda France focused on publishing and marketing in the region. And 15 people lost their jobs as part of the closure.

I wonder if this is part of Microsoft's strategy to abandoned physical media or possibly gamepass advertising makes their roles redundant you don't need to market a game as hard when the majority of players get the game as part of a sub which already promoted upcoming games

Tacoboto7h ago

It's France too, there's a high likelihood only 1-2 people on the team even had an Xbox.

Profchaos6h ago

Possibly guven all the leaks we know the Xbox brand is really struggling in the region.

Yi-Long3h ago

Well, if your consoles and games are barely found in any stores any more, of course you're gonna struggle finding consumers ...

XiNatsuDragnel6h ago

Tbh Microsoft I think Bethesda being 3rd party same with Activision would probably more competitive than thus scenario imo

Profchaos4h ago(Edited 4h ago)

I think it would have been better for all parties really especially gamers

TheColbertinator5h ago

The recently purchased Activision French offices might take over all the licensing and marketing for Microsoft in France from now on.

Sony Could Increase Your Game's Difficulty If It Sees You Complain About It

Sony has recently published a new patent that wants to dynamically handle the games' difficulty and gameplay based on the player's emotions.

jznrpg8h ago

This is something I might use. Sometimes I play some good games but they don’t have difficulty option and are a little too easy.

Profchaos8h ago

Souls games will be like that players struggling make it harder

PassNextquestion7h ago(Edited 7h ago)

I think if used correctly it could work well

jambola3h ago

cool idea
cool idea for horror games especially
the way it's explained here sounds like it could never be forced hopefully, so that's ok with me
