1UP writes: "Considering the multiplayer accomplishments of games like Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 , it's hard to imagine something more groundbreaking coming along any time soon. And from what we've seen so far, Far Cry 2's multiplayer doesn't appear to do anything we haven't seen in other high-profile shooters. But while the modes may not be anything new, Far Cry 2's multiplayer is very polished and well balanced. That's not to say that Far Cry 2's multiplayer is uninspired. It has some interesting modes, like Uprising. One player gets the Lieutenant tag for the match, and only he has the ability to capture each of the map's three control points. The rest of the team's job is to keep that Lieutenant alive. Capture the diamond (flag), deathmatch, and team deathmatch round out the list of other modes across 14 maps planned to ship with the game. In addition, the game comes with a map editor, so would-be designers can share their work, much like with Halo 3's Forge."
