It's always nice to have something pretty to look at.
The fact that Niel Druckmann stated Horizon Zero Dawn is the new bar in graphical fidelity and in this video Horizon is an honorable mention while Uncharted 4 is #1 is simply ignorant on Watchmojos part.
What... The video isn't valid if Horizon Zero Dawn isn't on the list
What do you expect from this obselete un-informed youtube channel.
Druckmann said that because it's open world, and particularly because of the foliage. I think that Uncharted still has the best character models and close-quarters environments.
I have three disagrees from people who didn't listen to the Druckmann conversation with Herman.
His interview with Hermen was very nice and interesting. He particularly mentioned the foliage in a lively open world saying he ll have to go tell his team this is the new bar. Then Hermen mentioned a friendly competition on foliage in an amused way. It's all in good spirit though and maybe the internet take these way too seriously.
Saved me a click
HZD is good, but no Star Citizen or Crysis 3 when it comes to photorealism. Niel is Sony's employee, he's biased obviously.
You have to be kidding me. Horizon Zero Dawn not being on this top 10 list at all is a joke, period.
Horizon isnt supposed to be photo realistic, and if you dont think it makes it in the top 10 graphics for this gen let alone the top 2 or 3 you havent played it. Also, HA. you calling people biased, too rich.
Top 10. 1. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End 2. Battlefield 1 3. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt 4. The Order 1886 5. Final Fantasy XV 6. Halo 5: Guardians 7. Batman Arkham Knight 8. Forza Horizon 3 9. Mario Kart 8 10. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter How did Horizon Zero Dawn not make Top 5? That's a crock. I would replace The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Mario Kart 8 & The Order 1886 with Horizon: Zero Dawn, Gears 4 & Star Wars: Battlefront. Everything else seems fine though.
No Driveclub and Horizon Zero Dawn a honorable mention with trailer footage Lmaooo. It's either blindness or they haven't played these two games. IMO while UC4 has better character models and facial animations, overall I was more impressed by what Guerilla pulled off in and open world game.
An honest list would have been severely one sided for PS4, these guys were just trying to appeal to as many fans across as many platforms as possible. I mean they state their criteria excludes stylized games and then almost immediately place MK8 on the list. The WiiU version no less
No Forza? GTFO
From what I've played (and own) this gen XB1, PS4 (I have a Wii U, but it'sgames aren't visually on par with XB1 and PS4 titles, due to hardware). 1. Uncharted 4 (PS4) 2. Gears of War 4 (XB1) 3. Rise of the Tomb Raider (XB1) 4. Battlefield 1 (XB1) 5. Batman Arkham Knight (PS4) 6. Infamous Second Son (PS4) 7. Ratchet and Clank (PS4) 8. Halo 5(XB1)/Doom(PS4)/Killzone Shadowfall (PS4) 9. Gears of War: UE(XB1) 10. Witcher 3 (XB1) Honerable Mentions: Sunset Overdrive, Deus Ex Mankind Divided and Halo 2: Anniversary Dishonerable Mention: Fallout 4 Note: Have not played nor do I own the Order 1886, Quantum Break, or Horizon Zero Dawn, but they're backloged. I am very slowly playing through Ryse, due to games with gold. Racing games like Forza Horizon 3 and Drive Club, simply don't interest, but I respect there visuals. I have Doom, Killzone Shadowfall and Halo 5 tied, as they out class each other in some areas. Halo 5 has the best models, mp graphics and cutscenes. While Doom has the best animations, but some strange megatexures. Killzone Shadowfall has weird animations, but some stunning lighting, and a jumpy framerate.
@ Sciurus_vulgaris: no Order:1886 or Doom... your list is invalid. you have 2 Gears games... only Gears 4 should be on here. one of which looks "just ok" (UE) Infamous looked good at launch, but looks "just ok" now... no KIllzone. you said it had a jumpy framerate, but it still looks better than Gears UE. Witcher 3 doesn't look that great on console, I would've put Ryse over the console version of Witcher 3. Drive Club doesn't interest me either, but I thought this was a GRAPHICS list... yeah... this list is 100% invalid.
He does have Doom on the list... Please reference his first sentence for what the list is made of "From what I've played (and own) this gen XB1, PS4 (I have a Wii U, but it'sgames aren't visually on par with XB1 and PS4 titles, due to hardware). "
@ EatCrow: idc what arbitrary qualifiers they want to add in order to make their list true... thats like posting a list that says "From what I've played (and own) Donkey Kong Country is #1 best graphics in a game ever" that may be true if you add that b.s qualifier at the beginning... but at that point, why even post your list? the fact of the matter is, you dont need to have owned or played a game in order to see that a game is graphically better than another. I've never played Horizon or Driveclub & do not own them. I've never even played past the 1st stage in The Order 1886, but YOUTUBE is a thing that exists... so I dont need to have owned or played them in order to say they're some of the best looking games out there. your logic is faulty & Sciurus_vulgaris's list is still invalid.
I would say there are plenty of great looking games this gen. I think Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted 4, The Order 1886, Assassins Creed Syndicate, Batman Arkham Knight, and Dishonored 2 all look great.
Hmm, Persona 5 looks absolutely incredible. Much more striking than the list above
yeah it is I'm enjoying it a lot did you play the others in the series?
Count on Sony's first party studios to produce the best graphically intensive games on any platform. Looking forward to TLoU2 & GoW4.
yeah because facial details are the only thing you play a game for right. you guys are too easy to please or is it just low standards
lol console only gamer play the witcher 3 on their underpowered console and say oh yeah it doesn't look as good now input generic third persona action game with stealth lol. not trolling I own a PS4 pro
Witcher 3 on PC w/ 1080ti on ultra in 2k or 4k is the best graphics, 30fps console games look muddy and sad by comparison. Hardware determines best graphics, even World of Warcraft at 4k 144fps is an eye opening experience if you've only ever played consoles, and it's 12 years old.
If I had a top ten that visually impressed me in some fashion. Of games I've actually played. In no particular order they would be: Doom Dishonored 2 Uncharted 4 Ratchet and Clank Remaster Gears 4 Quantum Break Halo 5 The Order 1886 Ori and the Blind Forest Dark Souls 3
Here are my top 10. 1. Horizon: Zero Dawn. The most visually impressive looking world I've ever seen in a game. The amount of detail in the world/foliage is remarkable. Fantastic character models, and amazing detail in the robo-dinosaurs. Has raised the bar for all other developers to top "in my opinion" 2. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. The best looking character models this generation. Along with the most lifelike animations across the board. The facial animations are also the best in the industry so far "in my opinion" 3. Until Dawn. This game has some of the most lifelike character models I've ever seen in a game. Absolutely amazing. The environments also look equally as lifelike & real. The facial animations are really fantastic as well. I was in awe of them. 4. The Order 1886. This game has remarkable character models, along with beautiful levels. All which look very realistic. I look at this game as Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, for me this generation. Game me that same feeling when I first saw it. Really fantastic facial animations as well. 5. Batman: Arkham Knight. Batman's never looked better. Same goes for Gotham. The way rain drops down bats suite & the detail in the world truly impresses. While I wish the streets were populated with actual civilians & people going about their everyday lives ( maybe it'll happen in a future game ) credit to the detail in the enemies and the batmobile looks awesome. 6. Infamous: Second Son. Beautiful looking world, and amazing particle effects, neon powers etc... The character models look fantastic too. Some great voice work too. 7. Driveclub. I believe this game is still "King" when it comes to visuals for a racing game. GT Sport looks amazing, but Driveclub was definitely ahead of its time. The car models, weather etc still look gorgeous to this day. 8. The Last Guardian. Regardless of having been in development for so long, it's a really beautiful looking game! Trico is a sight to behold. 9. Quantum Break. Pretty amazing work that Remedy achieved here. Very lifelike looking models, and fantastic lighting. Can't think of a 10th.
ClayRules2012---- you should put a disclaimer on that comment. it should be my top ten console games I have played because I can't afford a PC to see how the witcher 3 looks. there now it's fixed
Lol, your really something else. Have a great day & God bless =)
ClayRules2012----- I'm messing with you man but seriously if you have a chance to try the witcher 3 at maxed setting with a few mods then go for it. trust me it beats all of those shallow games you have listed
I could agree with this but take Mario Kart off push everything 4-10 down one and make Horizon Zero Dawn #4.
