Missouri's Stephens College assembling a team for autumn Tespa tournament.
Women got it way easier than men in America yet they still wanting more benefits and perks.
Watch the transgenders dominate like they are doing every other sport. Trans wrestlers kicking chicks asses lol.
Society is in sharp decline when this crap is allowed...
Well 1 or 2 sports is far from every other sport
"FEMALE ATHLETES CRUSHED BY 'WOMEN WHO WERE ONCE MEN'
Transgenders dominate in weightlifting, track, wrestling, football, basketball, mixed martial arts"
That's the very top of the article lol. MMA? Come on.. They should be ashamed of themselves.
Alright well it seems im wrong and ill revoke my point.
In my defense (slightly) i dont click on commentor links though, and atleast your added post adds more information for other lazy people like myself.
You can go to college for videogames? Can I get some info?
Well youre not necessarily "going for videogames". Although you could choose to study graphic design or computer science or w/e.
Youre going for whatever you choose to study, however youre paying your way by being good at video games, same as football players, basketball, volleyball.
Keep in mind VERY few college athletes go pro.
lol! Sexism at its best!
Regardless if it's for women or any past grievance, but aren't gender specific scholarships the epitome of sexism?
Next time l see a 'men are victims too" rant thats aimed at bringing one gender into the equation in a mainly one gender issue, lm gonna call them sexist.
There already exist game team scholarships, the issue is social pressure the same way men feel they cant speak up for abuse...
Why are people still so ignorant? Itd take you like 2 minutes tops to come to the logic behind this..
N4G is not the place to virtue signal.
Nor is it a good idea to asume everyone but you is an idiot on the issue(s).
Good day sir.
Everyone has potential to be victims. It's not really an equation if there's only one side. And socially men tend to be more likely to leave their problems unspoken.
By the way, typically when someone points out others, usually plural, in essence how you used "people," tend to be narcissistic or have an inferiority complex. Rhetorical name calling works best when it's directed towards an individual. Just a tip on how to make a better argument.
@brand how to have an argunent. Recite all points made by someone and claim as your own. I never berated you but if you take ignorance as an insult you'll refuse to see issues from more than your own point of view.
This article is about giving a chance for girls to take a foot into the competitive scene and that sits wrong with you for some reason.
Yes the way people who comment here worry me, lm not saying to change your mind, that never works but simply be open to the idea that there are gamers out there that'd love to play professionally. Perhaps they need help doing so because...well, look at twitch chat when a girl shows up on lol, dota or counterstrike tourny, that barberic behaviour is everywhere, why cant we at least not let them hold that burden alone?
@specimen if the only thing you understood from my comment was that youre an idiot then l guess were done here.
We simply have different views over the same topic. Neither of them are really wrong. I'm still young, just a senior in high school, and what I have noticed so far is that playing field for competitions has been becoming pretty even. I'm in ROTC, there's always some healthy competition. Our air rifle team has 4 girls and one boy, and they just won a national championship this year. A lot of the cadet officers were girls this year, and they will be the majority next year.
What I'm trying to say is that I'm young, and everything I experienced so far shows that there has been a more leveled playing field. I understand the past, and how things were unfair, but I could easily see how things are different now.
And I'm sorry.
For everyone saying sexism... You do realize scholarships for gaming exist - the issue is the competitive scene is just so dominated by males that girls simple think they arnt accepted. The comments here kind of prove the need for such a thing. League of legends has a few girls on in its history in their teams despite having a high female player base.
Its a weird social thing, girls just dont feel tgey can make it competitivly even when some individuals stomp.
Its kind of flawed though, example WNBA struggles every year to maintain viewership and when people say its because theyre less talented its instantly "sexist". But do you really think maya moore could take lebron? Or sue bird vs john wall?
I dont like to watch 2nd tier athletes, and judging by viewership most people dont. But if you say it youre sexist even though everyone is saying it by not viewing. If i say the all female ghostbusters sucks melissa mcarthy says im sexist.
Its up to the individual to prove theyre better or equal. Thats why it shouldnt be based on sex or race, but by ability. If they just made it a multi-sex scholarship and had a competition (much like how essays for scholarships work (they pick the best one)) and if some women won great but if they didnt, they gotta get better. Scholarships should be given to those that are the best unless ofcourse they have off field/court/monitor issues like being a nuisance, raping people (jameis winston*), stealing crab legs (winston), tripping people (grayson allen), beating people up at parties (every WSU football player), etc.
Im with you on that they should be judged equally but you ignored my main reason for supporting this, its because girls just dont think they're allowed to. You used second tier as an example but theres maybe a teenage girl who would assassinate us all in this game using bannanas as controls who may of clicked this link and read the comments... Do you think an impressionable kid would then sign up for a team spot? Why should they have to face such a social hurdle alone? People are so eager to dismiss the underdog so soundly in all works of life
This scholarship is aiming of tackling that doubt and I'll support that
Thats a personal problem unfortunately. I dont doubt at all that theres women, boys, girls, men, blacks, asians, christians, muslims, mormons, and handicapable people that are vastly better than me at games. But there's boys that are timid and face social hurdles themselves as well. You have to break through that, and that comes with a good support group (encouraging parents, friends, etc.).
Look there's next to no way for me to write this in a "PC" friendly way, but at the end of the day when opportunities are denied to people due to their sex, race, religion, or whatever else its a bad thing not a good thing.
Those that have worked the hardest and proven they belong (without the aforementioned issues) should be given the spoils.
The woman have to show they belong otherwise it will be just another WNBA. Take the chick that plays Dana Schully in X files, she was gonna get nickel and dimed and fought and showed she deserved more. You want betterment, you have to fight for it yourself or no one will respect you.
Thank you white knight.
Im a girl. Thank you for your contribution to this discussion
Seems like they can't make it competitively so they need to cry "Muh sexism" so they can get scolarships, money and attention without doing any of the legwork.
The scholarships are aimed at teenage kids, can you back up a bit and not be so cynical.
@MeteorPanda i'll be as cynical as I want to.
The blame lies with the adults indoctrinating the teenagers though.
