Despite recent rumors, 343 Industries officially denies that Halo 3 is coming to PC and also says that there are no current plans to make a remastered version either.
You will have to find another game to get ripped off by.
Lol halo 3 is overrated, I don't want that game at all much less a anniversary edition.
I'm actually glad they're not doing it yet.
343 needs to take a break from Halo, I want 343 to work on a new IP. And im slightly optimistic about it.
343 was put together for the sole purpose of making Halo...the day Halo is no longer wanted by the gaming community is the day 343 will drip making Halo.
Same as Turn 10, the make For a games and love what they do.
why? just buy MCC.
I dont believe it! Im holding strong with my halo 3 remake prediction! Ahhhhh
i hate you lol
Of course not, it would make 343 Halo games look terrible Since Halo 3 was the last great Halo game and was not made by 343.
MCC Collection says hello.
Your comment makes no sense.
Yeah and they fumbled that release
Your point is still moot.
They released them. And the campaign and co op mode was not fumbled at all.
Multiplayer was a shame but its the first game to ever try anything of the sort.
And MCC online remains broken to this day.
You try having 4 games with different net codes working on one disc. They should've just released 4 disc that you could install on your Xbox and not need to use again except for the last disc or just gave you download codes. The multi-player was the problem not the single player. Halo 5s multi-player is fantastic and is still played quite a bit today.
Halo 5, is a great Halo game. It has the best multiplayer in the Halo series. They messed up on the campaign a little bit. But they are definitely capable of delivering good campaigns as seen in Halo 4, which has the best campaign.
Before Halo 4, for me Halo did not have a compelling story. The level design maybe was a little better(not much) in prior halo games but in terms of story Halo 4 beats any halo game before it.
Lol halo 5 may not be bad but it is far from the best.
I agree. Prefer Halo 4 story over any of the other Halo's.
And Halo 5 does indeed have the best multiplayer by far. It is awesome.
Your name says it all.
Halo 5 has the best multiplayer ever on a halo game. But the main campaign is missing story and co op.
Yea that's why halo 5 is the worst selling and dedicated fans didn't even buy it. Even the "pros" don't like it.
Halo 5 is the worst selling only because of the Xbox One marketshare.
And its not the worst selling by much.
Some idiot of AMD's (or hired) event management staff at an obscure press release, screwed up with a Halo 3 image instead of a newly released DX12 title (which the new RX series of the Polaris GPU's use as PR material wherever possible because they currently perform better than Nvidia's Pascal lineup in both DX12 and Vulkan, until Volta arrives) in the same franchise, Halo Wars 2, and the PC community loses their collective shits, as usual.
I have been wanting Halo 3 on PC, since the day it came out on Xbox 360. That's 10 years this September. Phil Spencer has been as clear as he could be, and so are Microsoft. Previous exclusives, that date years back, are NOT coming to PC. They are only looking forward. No Halo: MCC, Halo 2 Anniversary or Halo 3 / Anniversary. Only future Halo games in the Xbox Play Anywhere program will come to Windows 10.
Let it go.
How does Halo Wars Definitive from the 360 just being released on Steam fit into that?
Halo Wars: Definitive Edition was already out on PC (free pre-order bonus for Halo Wars 2 on the Windows store in Windows 10) and is exactly 2 months old as of today. It is getting a standalone release, untied from Halo Wars 2's pre-order as that game is already out, and is being out on 3 storefronts - Xbox One, Windows Store on Windows 10 and Steam.
Halo Wars on the 360, which you used in your rhetoric and not even the same build as the Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, is 8 years and 2 months old and did not release on Steam, Eindows Store on Windows 10 and will not, ever be.
Halo 3's promotional render during it's launch, which was used as a mistake here at the AMD event, doesn't mean jackshit because a Halo 3 remaster was not out on the Windows Store on Windows 10, 2 months ago as a pre-order bonus to some other game, nor does a Halo 3 remaster even exist in the first place.
I repeat what Microsoft and it's employees are saying for the past 2 years regarding Halo on Windows 10. "WE LIKE TO THINK GOING FORWARD. ONLY FUTURE HALO TITLES WILL BE BUILT FOR XBOX ONE & WINDOWS 10 IN MIND."
So, "Halo Wars: Definitive Edition", which was released 2 months ago on Windows 10 as a pre-order bonus, which is noe getting a standalone release on steam/Xbox One/Windows store on Windows 10, which is a completely different build from the 360, is not the smoking gun for your portbegging of Halo 3 on PC. It will NEVER happen.
They probably wouldn't be able to say that it's happening at this time, E3 is where they'd announce it. It would be incredibly disappointing if there isn't a Halo 3 Anniversary.
Just upgrade Halo 5 to take full advantage of Scorpio. After that 343 its time for a new IP.
Halo 5 uses dynamic resolution already so odds are that game will scale day 1 with no real effort needed.
but won't it still be 1080p? They used dynamic resolutions as a way to maintain 60 FPS. So Scorpio should render the game at native 1920x1080p at 60 FPS. I was hoping to be honest the game would render at native 4k w/o a patch since we're talking about MS. Remember about 6-12 months out before PS4/XBO were announced there were rumors/articles about MS doing forward compatibility with 1st party IPs. Was kinda hoping to not only see older XBO titles render at 4K but 360 titles as well. Just wishful thinking on my part but would really make Scorpio an attractive proposition to non-Xbox fans.
@CBaoth my understanding is the way MS is building their game engines they are designed to perform to the level the machine can handle. Gears 4 is a prime example of how that works, on Xbox One its limited to 1080P but the game on PC scales all the way to native 4K. I was under the impression Halo is in a similar boat but I could be wrong.
You do realize they were formed to be the halo keepers and only to make halo related items .
Quite happy with this news. Halo 3 looks perfectly fine on the MCC. Focus on new games at this point
I been stating for months that Halo 3, unlike CE and 2, has no no need for an anniversary edition. 343i, should focus as much resources, and time into Halo 6 as they can. It is unfortunate, that a proportion of the Halo community and some media, keep spreading misinformation regarding Halo 3: Anniversary. 343i has stated multiple times that Halo 3 Anniversary isn't happening.
I thought all Xbox exclusives were on PC.
There is no need to remaster Halo 3. For a nearly 10 year old game, Halo 3 still holds up well due to the effects and lighting. Character models and cutscenes do look a bit rough. Halo 3 plays really well in MCC. I don't see anything wrong, with porting the Halo 3 to PC and releasing it on steam. Halo 3 on steam would probably do fairly well.
Yes it will
First, they are likely to save it for a E3 reveal, not out it during some interview, second...how do we know its not MCC?
Third, of course 343 likely won't do it, another team that actually focuses on ports likely will.
Why the hell not? Oh yeah that would be too much like giving people what they want, which Microsoft doesnt do.
