For 10th anniversary, Google crowdsources human betterment

Google has never been the sort of company that's filled with people who think small, and that attitude is apparent once again as the company announces a celebration of sorts, timed with their 10th birthday. Called Project 10100, the celebration involves elements of a contest, charitable grants, and the sort of open-ended brilliance that the MacArthur "genius" grants are supposed to recognize, all with a pretty big goal in mind: nothing less than identifying ideas that are easy to implement, scale well, and improve the human condition.
