Epic Games releases Photorealistic Character Sample for Unreal Engine 4

Epic Games has released a realistic Unreal Engine 4 sample along with accompanying documentation to demonstrate the use of high-quality character shader techniques, similar to those used for characters in Epic’s MOBA title, Paragon.

not photo realistic to the naked eye. It's disappointing actually. If you look at it full screen the hair and ears are upsetting.

@Thecommentator I know who does not own a high end HDR 4k TV and a PS4 pro and Horizon Zero dawn :)

Or forgot to turn on 4k and put the capble HDMI cable into the HDR port (most tv's only have one HDR port)

Don't think he's saying that ND gets photorealistic images, just that they are closer than this particular capture offers.

To that, i'd have to agree. Kojima productions did better with MGSV also. GG did better with Horizon. Forza devs do better with their games. There are quite literally lots of better examples of close to photorealistic than this.

This is rather lackluster work from Epic, because I've seen better from them in the past.

Unreal Engine 4 doesn't seem to produce the same great results proportional to the generation it's in compared to UE3.

Horizon looks better.

But games need that hair. Althought we almost reaching 4k gaming, hairs still stuck at ps3 levels.

Cool now release some games. They haven't released anything of note since cliffy b and rod Ferguson left and they sold the rights of gears to Microsoft. The fortnite game should have been released by now.
