Q&A with Kareem Ettouney on Sony's great hope: LittleBigPlanet for the PlayStation 3

Sony is pulling out the stops to celebrate the launch of a critical game, LittleBigPlanet, from developer Media Molecule. The console maker held a 24-hour Game Jam at Parsons The New School for Design to celebrate the October 21 game release. Kareem Ettouney, art director of LittleBigPlanet and co-founder of Media Molecule, was on hand to judge the competition. He talked about the competition, as well as the current shift in game design from narrative to user-generated playgrounds, in this exclusive interview.

It's called user-created content.

It's only a question of when Other developers will follow suit.

In LBP, u don't just create a creature via spore or do something like forge, but u create a whole world and share with the community.

Little Big Planet looks to be a very strong contender for the GOTY awards. I think it deserves it.
