Yep, currently playing through Horizon and Yakuza 0. Sadly, the latter one is a bit overlooked, but it really is a great game.

DashArrivals2591d ago

I finally finished HZD, I spent just under 73 hours playing it. Now, I'm back on Yakuza 0. My first Yakuza game ever and it is absolutely hilarious. I'm always laughing. Lots of fun

Babadook72591d ago (Edited 2591d ago )

Article proves it's headline is true by forgetting about Nioh. So many games!

Nyxus2590d ago

Yeah the script is really well written and genuinely funny at times.

ShadowKnight2591d ago (Edited 2591d ago )

Currently playing Nier and Tales of Berseria and having a blast with both of them. Nier soundtrack and gameplay is amazing!

skycaptin52591d ago

@Babadook I mention Nioh in the second paragraph.....

PhoenixUp2591d ago

That's an understatement

Some companies only believe that the end of the year library matters

Yohshida2591d ago

and some only believe the beginning matters

Yohshida2591d ago

and Halo Wars 2 in February

twiggytree122591d ago

Uncharted 4 - May
Until Dawn - August
The Last Guardian - December
Little Big Planet 3 - November

Oh look.. games that didn't launch at the beginning of their respective years....

MasterCornholio2591d ago (Edited 2591d ago )

Just Halo Wars 2?

Wasn't there another game called Candle Man?

Honestly you're starting to look stupid.

Chevalier2590d ago

Well the PS4 has a beginning, a middle and it will have games straight into the fall, so no worries there.

DigitalRaptor2586d ago (Edited 2586d ago )

"Honestly you're starting to look stupid."

Think he's already there, bud. Like really, who said that only the beginning matters? Is he trying to make it seem like Sony doesn't spread exclusives throughout the entire year, and that Sony fans are trying to say that only the beginning of the year matters.

Because that has no basis for comparison with the same old story that goes around in September-December where Xboys go off on their agenda pretending that waiting 9-10 months for a quality AAA retail game is acceptable and that only the holidays matter. That's actually what happens, not the Sony fans saying that only the beginning of the year matters, which doesn't happen. In fact, even Xbox corporate executives are brazen enough promote the "holiday" bro mantra: https://twitter.com/aarongr...

Certainly has. Horizon is the only new title I've played this year so far but there are a few titles over the last few months that I want to pick up at some point, like Nioh and kingdom hearts 2.8. I'm going to give Persona 5 a shot when that comes out. Looks really cool and slick and I have a hankering for a turn based JRPG. Never played Persona before so it should be interesting! After that, Nier which looks amazing and then likely crash bandicoot. Looking forward to some big announcements of releases for the 2nd half of the year! It's been a blowout of top tier games on PS4 so far this year, hopefully the trend continues!

starchild2591d ago

Definitely get Nioh if you like those kinds of games. It's so good.

jznrpg2591d ago (Edited 2591d ago )

Persona is a trip, great stories and 5s gameplay looks better than ever, NioH is a lot fun, tons of loots , good story and hardcore bosses. Nier is another awesome game with great combat mechanics and awesome story. Tales of Berseria is another game I have in my backlog which my friends reallly enjoyed, can go on and on so many great games

MultiConsoleGamer2591d ago

Horizon Zero Dawn is quickly establishing itself as one of the best games of the generation.

rivaldoo7772591d ago (Edited 2591d ago )

Incredible game yes!!! Best ps4 exclusive? No
Only if the perfect opening lasted up to the end of the story it would of been much better. I wished in the sequel they add a much more interesting villain instead of putting so much emphasis on machines. Don't get me wrong. The machines were awesome but were they memorable? I don't think so.

DashArrivals2591d ago

I disagree. The story was amazing. One of the best stories this gen easily.

Speak_da_Truth2591d ago

The machines weren't memorable? lol

ninsigma2590d ago

I thought the story was actually really unique and interesting from start to end. Each revelation just absorbed me even more. I don't get the reviews that said the story was weak because I found it wholly engaging.

rivaldoo7772590d ago

Jesus the dislikes Horizon is defo game of the year atm but not the best exclusive in my opinion

Liqu1d2590d ago

Less emphasis on the machines would be bad, the machines are integral to the world of Horizon. The villians in Horizon are puppets to something that hasn't been revealed yet so a sequel will probably expand on that.

Yoko Taro Passes Respect; Says Stellar Blade Is "Much Better" Than Nier: Automata

Stellar Blade's creative director, Hyung Tae Kim, has also claimed that the game is deeply inspired by Nier: Automata.

shadowhaxor8d ago

I feel like Yoko is downgrading Automata because he has expressed multiple times he'd like to revisit the universe, but Squenix hasn't been keen about it. We know he loves 2B and would love to take her out for another spin, so maybe this is how he gets the company to think about it.

gold_drake8d ago

u do realise that Square made Nier a franchise after Automata right?

Taro is downplaying it cause hes not a snob like most of the directors that think their games are gods gifts to the human race.

he said the same thing when being interviewed during the development of Automata too, that he couldnt have done it without the devs.

hes just a humble guy rly.

shadowhaxor8d ago

I mean, Neir existed before Automata with both OG Niers and Drakenguard. I don't count NieR Replicant, since it's a remake of the OG games. Sure, we have Reincarnation, which is still stuck on mobile devices (quite a damned shame). I just remember Taro saying he'd love to revisit Automata if Square Enix lets him. I do recall there was supposed to be a sequel to Automata, but it wasn't confirmed and I'd imagine it was just for Reincarnation.

Enjoy Taro, he seems like a cool guy, who loves the ladies and is humble. But damn, don't put down one of your masterpieces.

Cacabunga8d ago (Edited 8d ago )

I really liked Automata and cannot wait for Stellar Blade

isarai8d ago

I get he's giving them some credit, but i strongly disagree based on the demo. I honestly don't think any aspect of it feels good, it's not bad, it's just kinda ok but definitely a little jank. Also the souls like formula it is adopting does not help it imo. I was looking forward to this for years, now im just kinda let down honestly 🫤

fsfsxii5d ago

Its not a souls like, its a dmc-ish game with rpg elements. Any game with a third person camera and a sword is souls like to these buffoons

H98d ago

Man exputer can you stop putting words like that after someone's name, i read Yoko Taro Passes and just went blank

Snookies128d ago

Same... Awful way to word that title's beginning.

exputers8d ago

Whoops. Sorry to startle you.

H97d ago

It's alright brother, maybe I am just slow

Hereandthere8d ago

Thats because Sony had a heavy hand in funding and developing this game.

purple1018d ago

They sent in XDEV one of their traveling support studios to Korea to lend a hand if I’m not mistaken, Sony pulled out the big guns to help this studio

jwillj2k48d ago

(From the demo) Stellar has better direction in terms of stage layout if you like that ninja gaiden type feel. Nier is more polished by far.

Is Square’s ethics department gonna insert themselves into this one?

CrimsonWing6959d ago

They weren’t around “last time.”

isarai59d ago

Yoko Taro doesn't play that sh!t

59d ago
Dirty_Lemons59d ago

If it can be done right then amazing, yes please. Yoko Taro seems to change it up each time so I'm curious what a 'sequel' really means.

blackblades59d ago

Either way hope he learns and give her more outfits like Stella got.

vTuro2459d ago

On a sidenote assuming this is indeed Nier 3 then I kinda wonder if Yoko Taro will stick to his guns of creating new characters and stories each time, or if he'll continue with 2B & co due to their skyrocketing in popularity. I guess he'll probably do whatever Squeenix pays him to do lol, but I'm hoping for the former. 2B and her gang got a decent enough conclusion (especially for a Yoko game) and I feel like continuing their story would ruin it.

vTuro2459d ago

Actually, now that I think about it, a new Nier game would technically be Nier 4 since the gacha Reincarnation was declared as the sequel to Automata and is therefore Nier 3.

Dirty_Lemons59d ago

Oh man, that game was a slog. Graphics and music were excellent though, and it's nice directly strongly to Automata.

Red3f1ned58d ago (Edited 58d ago )

Tifa is a good sign. There's at least some hope, lads.
Just maybe they'll leave things alone.

Plus, like people are saying - Taro don't play that sh*t.
