U.S. Supreme Court set to hear arguments in decade-old Xbox 360 scratched-disc case

The U.S. Supreme Court is planning to hear arguments Tuesday in a lawsuit filed by Xbox 360 users against Microsoft over scratched video game discs.

LUL Wow. I thought this was done with. This was a well known issue, but I think the actual lawsuit they lost (Microsoft) was for the RROD and not the disc scratching like this separate suit.
I suggest reading the entire article, also this is a highlight of how this go moving along and is a pretty intelligent move by the individuals filing the suit.

"in an unusual (but not unprecedented) move, the individual plaintiffs asked the courts to voluntarily “dismiss” their cases which, in legal terms, is a final decision. Of course, legal terms aren’t always common-sense terms. In this case, the plaintiffs dismissed their claims under the condition that they could be revived if the appeals court granted class-action status."

Basically it went nowhere before that, because the high courts only review final decisions so these bois created a 'final decision' so they can hopefully be granted class action status.
