New screens for Sony's upcoming PS3 title Formula One Championship Edition. The graphics in this game are amazing and the reflections on the cars and roads make it look very realistic.
Now THAT is very VERY, impressive! Reminds me of the GT Vision E3 Trailer!
Most realistic looking racer of all time definately, i'm waiting for 360 to show me a racer that looks that good otherwise i'm selling my 360 when I get my PS3...
I don't see the car reflections that they are talking about. The water on the camera looked awesome, I will say. Honestly though, and I mean this with full honestly, I don't see how the environments and cars look better than PGR3 on the 360. Everyone keeps saying no 360 racer looks better. I beg to differ.
These pictures show how reflections on cars look. I didn't see that in any of the F1 screenshots, but maybe it was just those shots were bad. Both PGR3 and the F1 game look great. I just can't see why people say the 360 doesn't have something that looks as good.
here are a couple more for reference, with blur effects which I didn't notice in the F1 game
Nah! too dark yet some how too washed out looking.
Some of the effects look great but the game looks Xbox-ish(spray, wet roads & visors are the only thing great about it).
I love that photo. I'm not quite sure why Power of Green says this game looks Xbox-y. I mean, this is an Xbox F1 game:
And this is a PS3 game:
A screenshot from an original Xbox game, versus PS3. Great job, DJ.
Not to mention the picture lets you know it's from a Beta version on the bottom. Real nice.
What's next, posting a picture of an F1 game from the Windows 3.1 days and saying "is that the best MS can do"? Wouldn't put it past you.
this game has me really thinking about it. it looks fantastic. The graphics are brilliant. I am definatley going to rent it first, and then see if I wanna buy it.
What's the release date?
you thinkin about gettin dat PS3 babyBoi. Come on now THammer1, go head, pick dat shieeit up. We'll play some online games, whoopin you in motorstorm.
I'll give the PS3 a 21 gun salute.
"21 gun salute, dressed it fatigues, black jeans and boots"
Thammer1, my true Mother Fu(Ka.
If he wanted to go pick one up he could just go walk into a store and buy one.
wow, looks awesome !
Missing the most important part.... no force feed back!
How do you know it wont have FF and Rumble? There are 2 PS3 games that do, atm.
Need 4 Speed Carbon PS3 Games DOES have Force Feedback on Steering Wheels.
[this is NOT 'rumble', I'm talking about FFB on wheels]
PS3 games CAN / DO have FFB on wheels.
Sony 1st party titles F1 / GTHD don't in the USA, that is where the patent fight is currently under appeal. GTHD does have FFB in Japan on Japan PS3s [Sony has the patent there, not in USA]
Until the appeal is decided & lawsuit finalised, Sony would never try to put FFB in their 1st Party titles.
F1 is good without FFB, but with FFB it would be Fantastic !!
and the ps3 games with rumble are ?
and what pad do you use ?
Sony (and the US government) confirm that the PS3 cannot output rumble. It:
1) Literally DOES NOT output any rumble signal.
2) Due to the lawsuit Sony lost to Immersion, if PS3 did output rumble, it would be illegal to sell.
So no, PS3 does not output rumble, nor will it ever.
but i might give it a try, seeing this game has really improve on graphics.
I've seen the preview on TV of running footage and it doesn't look like these pictures guys.
That was a very recent build engine. Although it looked good, not like this though. The effects were good. The other cars respond very realistic, that must be said.
The racing itself was good, but the graphics dissapointed very much compared to the CGI trailer we've seen long ago
Click the orange "Download" button and watch a player go through a ranking lap in F1 Championship. Halfway through you get to see the gorgeous sunlight effect that people have been raving about.
My question is, does this game use HDR lighting? I didn't see the colors or brightness changing at all when the car was turning or passing under those bridges and was just wondering if there are HDR effects running at all. I would take HDR effects over some sun rays any day.
