Mass Effect Andromeda has received some controversy over its facial animations and character models, especially the default Female Ryder.
The original looks better than day one patch. She looks more feminine than the one on the left.
The one on the left is the original.
My gawd the one on the left looks like Shrek's daughter.
GUYS THE DAY ONE PATCH IS APPLIED ALREADY, THE FACE ON THE LEFT IS THE DAY 1 PATCH. The article states this with its sources This also says the current digital versions are patched versions. https://twitter.com/tibermo... apparently its a glitch when creating another ryder (male, then female), for whatever reasons some of the male ryders features transfer, notice her eyes went from blue to brown?
@Nitro So it's a bug that turns the main character into a transexual? Ok........
@cornholio It is a bug that made the character better!
The original is the one on the left. The new face is the one on the right. I actually think the new one looks better. She doesnt have that creepy look to her as much. The original had that super wide mouth and giant cheeks. It's still far from great, but it's a big improvement.
No, the day one update is on the left, as in the "new" one. The one on the right was captured from the stream, unpatched. https://www.reddit.com/r/ma... Also, apparently this is a bug that happens when you create a male ryder and then a female one, notice how some of the features from the male ryder defualts are there? Blue eyes are now brown?
They made her ears smaller too.
Agreed! Looks so much better now. Why couldn't they make her look like this on the first place instead of that ugly monster that's on the left? I don't get it. The game got a lot of hate because of the ugliness of this character.
the game i played in the demo was the one on the left, hopefully the one on the right is coming.
No you are right, the one on the left is taken from the patched build EA early access, whereas the on the right is from a french stream, unpatched, but also potentially a bug that occurs when creating multiple ryders
No way! The one in the right is better. But I wonder if it affects the character creation at all!
O.o the mágico of digital diet and exercise 🤷♀️
I really don't understand how the facial animations ended up so bad. I mean even the eyes? They couldn't add some f****** water to them? It's like someone put a blow dryer to them. Really disappointed. I hope the rest of the game is decent.
Why do you hope the rest is decent? I hope you aren't planning on buying this mess?
Don't be such a sheep. Buy the game if you like ME and have a mind of your own.
(NiteX) Yes, and if you like ME, don't buy it!
It's a bug. Not everyone has animation problems.
Thank god they got rid of those ugly Botox lips
No, the one on the right is the pre-patch Face. After the patch she looks like she does on the left, hence why no has seen the pre-patch face because everyone is playing the Xbox one EA access version which comes patched already
wait, what ? Really ?
Given that trailers from ages ago looked like the one on the left, and we've never seen the one on the right version, I'll believe the people saying it's actually just a glitch.
I can confirm this play on EA Access it looks like the one the left
IMO it's a huge improvement over the original
Ha. The people have spoken. This is getting hilarious, but its good they are listening. I see this being a meme for years to come like Giant Enemy Crab. I dont want to turn this into a Mass Effect vs Horizon thing, but its pretty funny when you remember all some people had to whinge about that game were the facial animations. And this game is supposed to be a lot more focused on conversations and dialogue. Also worth pointing out that yeah, some of Horizons animations were a bit weird, but the character models themselves, when not talking or in a screen shot, some of them were very good looking indeed, with textures and lighting. The eyes were waaaay better. In fact it was only because the models looked so good that was why the animation stood out as below that standard. Thats what Uncanny Valley is. ME's models dont even come close from what Ive seen. And these are the main characters, not random NPCs. Am I off the mark here? Anyone else thinking this? I dont see how this happens when they have 3 games experience and the facial performance is integral to the game, while characters in Guerillas previous games have nearly all been wearing helmets
man that sucks. I liked her. She looked good for a girl with a little down syndrome.
both look garbage
I have seen feminists look better then that, thats when you know things are bad 'O_o
The lighting is more natural on almost all faces now. It was harsh before. It makes the skin tones look more natural. This is a step in the correct direction when it comes to this part of the game. They have also made pupils and eyes look better across the board. On NPC's as well.
Slightly better but this doesn't even scratch the surface with the number of problems this game has.
"While there is no confirmation of this rumor..." Then how can you call this a report?
Just goes to show looks are very important to people even in video games.
I know right, it's not like you're gonna have sex with her.... wait a minute...
You know a game is great when they are literally having to change the MAIN character's face the day the game launches. This is the funniest f****** thing ever.
still butt-ugly, her face nicely sums up the game
Why do we hold devs in such high regard? They are just people after all....stupid fucking people. Case in point.
Still doesn't look great and shouldn't even need patches to fix it in the first place.
They're both fucking ugly.
That looks much more like it,why give us that left version to begin with?
She looks a little better in the new one, she was fugly before, in a cartoonish sort of way. They seemed to have softened her a bit.
Now can they do this with that Shrek Asari as well?
and that tranny white-haired one as well?
