Mass Effect Andromeda certainly looks a bit better on PS4 Pro if you're limited by a 1080p screen, but the difference with the standard PS4 is not huge.
Honestly not much of a difference
Indeed. I expected a bit more. The most impactful difference is actually ambient occlusion, which is unexpected.
After Horizon this game doesn't look very impressive to begin with. I guess that game spoiled me.
Yeah seriously, what's with the super low textures on rocks for example. Looks horrible compared to Dice games.
Right? If GG can do it, why can't they? They've really risen the bar on how to make a game for the Pro.
Some pre-rendered cut scenes impress you? (it is really well done) Would not be an option for ME:A as you can configure your whole appearance. https://www.reddit.com/r/ho... (I Repeat this here) NFS, also Frostbite, went all in as it was only cars that were configurable - it rendered your custom car into live action with real actors - best human animation ever... (what is really the difference between pre-rendered and pre-filmed?) https://www.youtube.com/wat...
Not sure what you mean. I'm talking about the game in general, in-game graphics. I mean, just compare these: http://cdn3.dualshockers.co... http://www.videogameshelf.c...
@Nyxus there will be other types of planets...
NOW, ,stop wi the BS, because that means every game is going to disappoint if you keep on making comparisons to a game that offers only a one time play through with no real reason to replay, stop with this people, yes HZD is awesome looking single player game, it took them 7yrs to make to tweak to the game that it is, everyone is just keeps on comparing every single game to this Witcher 3 was compared to this and that came out last year, we have dead souls 3 coming next, are going to make the comparison with that too, just accept HZD great job, now let's judge this game for everything it offers not just graphics, gameplay, music, voice acting and storyline.
The visuals in this Mass effect even on consoles shows a MASSIVE disconnect from what the frostbite 3 engine is capable of. It seems Bioware has got quite lazy with pushing effects for there new re imagining of Mass Effect. Lots of low res textures and alpha effects present. The lighting seems much flater then it should be. I`ll still play it but everyone should be very disappointed in them.
It looks substantially better on PC.
It looks better on PC with framerate and resolution some better details on rocks. But overall its not really a massive difference on scale of a game like Ghost Recon Wildlands vs consoles https://www.youtube.com/wat... It shows laziness on Biowares part. If they cant release top tier visuals next to Dice then they shouldn't be using Frostbite 3.
I doubt its laziness, its probably just the budget being too small and development too rushed. They are owned by ea after all.
I doubt it even runs.
I think Frostbite build system scales input imaginary/models to whatever target platform used, if PS4Pro could look like PC Ultra @ 4k it would. I also get the impression that cut scenes are not pre-rendered (you are allowed to modify your appearance), think many games are... looking at most games cut scenes. NFS, also Frostbite, went all in as it was only cars that were configurable - it rendered your custom car into live action with real actors - best human animation ever... (what is really the difference between pre-rendered and pre-filmed?) https://www.youtube.com/wat...
So 1080p Pro looks like 1080p base...? No s***, they only supported the higher resolution so unless you have a 4K screen of course the difference will be minor.
I looked at the screen shots on a 1080p screen just now, its a very obvious difference.
It's more noticeable than the headline/article would have you believe for sure. But I think they've put most of their Pro efforts into the 1800p rather than having a separate config for 1080p Pro owners.
No it isn't, blind fanboyism.
Ouf, I thought there was something wrong with me thinking that.
i notice a huge difference, but honestly those character models look bad.
The game looks fine honestly, some low res textures here and there but thats not much of an issue.
Thankfully I have a 4K HDR TV. And from the comparisons I've seen so far the PS4Pro is looking really nice.
I've heard this game doesn't look to good. It's gotta look good in 4k right?
Really just 30fps on Pro?
1800p checkerboard at 30 fps on the PS4Pro. 1080p 30 fps on PS4. 900p 30 fps on XBO and sky's the limit on PC.
Looks the same.
Yeah, this is a 1080p comparison. Not sure why it really exists haha... Of course they're gonna look pretty much the same, all of the Pro's power is going into a higher resolution that you're not viewing...
The higher resolution isn't that big of deal in this case.
so disappointed. i expected way more. horizon: zero dawn on ps4 pro remains graphics king.
I agree, but keep in mind this is a 1080p comparison for people without 4K displays. It isn't showing off the higher resolution. But yeah this game is looking to be mediocre in lots of ways.
If you have to squint then there's no practical difference. It either looks great or it doesn't, don't know why people are so anal about little extra pixels so they can argue about it.
Read the article please people. This isn't a normal PS4 vs Pro comparison, it's for people who only have 1080p displays. The Pro's higher resolution isn't being showed off.
