GameSpew: No hyperbole needed: For Honor is simply one of the best-looking games we've seen so far on current generation.
Doesn't make it any better though.
Sheesh, you've made 20 comments in the last eight days and 16 of them are unarguably negative. Isn't it exhausting to be so angry all the time? Chill out, buddy; they're just games!
I'm much more sarcastic than actually negative, I'm enjoying many games every day. It's just that Ubisoft, EA and Activision have completely earned my hate over the past 10 years :)
It does, to be honest.
The graphics look pretty sweet but they need to fix their server issues. Played one match online last night where the server had to keep reconnecting and when the match ended it didn't end. Everyone had to quit then losing their progress
Meh, Uncharted 4, Battlefield One, Star Wars Battlefront, I'm sure there's more but those are what spring to mind off the top of my head.
"ONE of the Best"
Yeah, but you have to draw the line somewhere. I just named off three that look better off the top of my head and I'm sure there's others. Sure For Honor might be top ten, but you're starting to get pretty broad in that case. EDIT: The Order 1886 and maybe Ryse as well. That brings it up to five that look better than For Honor
Love the art style and colours of this game.
Witcher 3 and Dying Light. Open world games that are visually unbeaten this gen. Witcher at number 1. If you ain't got a PC guess you'll never know.
I'm pretty sure Horizon will look better than TW3 because of its 4k and Pro optimization. I wish we could see a PC comparison. But TW3 is absurdly beautiful. Playing FF15, which looks great in 4k and then switching to TW3 which has NO patch, and it's odd how empty FF15 feels in comparison. And not just in objects, but detail. Despite the crispness of 4k, though TW3 is upscaled, FF15 doesn't compare. It will be interesting to see if Horizon does! I wish we could get A Witcher 3 Pro patch, but I wonder if it would run at 30fps then.
*Terms and conditions applied I would say. Witcher 3 kills it with a PC. Add mods and it stands as one of the most indisputably best looking games this gen, apart from Uncharted which gains on the graphics department due to the linear construction. Also from initial impressions it seems that the facial animations in HZD are weird (On another post on N4G). But anyways excited for that game, because come on, T-Rexinators are pretty cool and the gameplay is pretty good, don't really care about graphics as long as story is decent and gameplay is awesome.
I wouldn't even go that far and say W3 is even close. W3 is average at best. Animations are really bland. Nothing really outstanding. Sure, doesn't help it's not pushing the Pro, but HZD will run circles around this even in its standard version. For Honor looks sick, though. It was never on my radar, but it looks a fresh breeze of a genre out of the ordinary. I might as well get it. A bit unfortunate it releases so close to HZD.
@Ju, you playing on PC? If you max the game out on PC it's a gorgeous game, with mods it is most definitely one of the best looking available.
You guys do know the article said "One Of The Best" not the best right???
Some people will keep arguing even if they agree 100% with the topic
...never stopped to take in the games graphics. I don't agree at all. Not an ugly game, but I wouldn't say it's one of the best looking games around.
As we saw with Ryse, pretty graphics a great game does not make.
I bought Ryse for £5 on Steam. Certainly not a great or memorable game but enjoyable enough (especially at that price). But yeah, I use it mostly to show off my PC. That's the Crytek way.
As well as the order. I'm halfway through the order right now and i can tell you they are both on equal footing for the graphics and gameplay quality.
I haven't noticed anything jaw dropping on the PS4 pro. It doesn't look bad by any means but there are games where I am floored with how good they look. This isn't one of them. The only thing that grabbed my attention graphics wise was how awful the chain mail looked on the knight.
It does look nice
:Game play looks incredibly boring and dull.
It's actually the opposite. 4 on 4 with NPCs can become pulse pounding.
