'Death Magnetic's' Quality Sounds Better in Guitar Hero Than the CD Version

When is comes to the design of CD's, it's to get the music as loud as possible but not sacrifice the the quality of the music. Something 'Death Magnetic' does poorly, while the Guitar Hero game does it better."

The mixing on the CD is attrocious anyway (Rick Rubin sucks), nothing to do with dynamic range, the whole thing is very much clipping.

Something similar happened to One by One by Foo Fighters, it was quiet so in post it just had a lot of gain added.
