Game developers have clearly changed the focuses of their creations. Do they see gamers as lazy and ignorant about storylines?
Pocketpair, the developer behind Palworld, has said that the studio plans to remain a small independent game developer.
Yuffie joins the party late in the game in FF7 Rebirth, but she's still a potential date partner for Cloud in Chapter 12 at the Gold Saucer. So if you've got your heart set on the adorable Wutai Ninja, here's our guide on how to Date Yuffie in FF7 Rebirth, covering everything from her sidequests, her Synergy Skills and Abilities that you'll need to use with Cloud, and what answers to give during her relationship building dialogues.
Palworld is a runaway success for developer Pocketpair, but creator Takuro Mizobe isn't looking to make triple-A Xbox games anytime soon.
I do somewhat agree with the article however, the main reason why gaming has gotten easier is due to it being inserted to the mainstream. The success of the Wii made gaming companies realize that they don't have to cater to the typical gamer but to those far less critical which is usually a cheaper venture with a larger pay off. Why make interesting NPCs in when the most lucrative market doesn't give a crap? They don't wan't to piece together a mystery through thorough examination of an area, instead everything must be spoon fed to them through audio tapes. Looking down at your health bar is way too much strain, it's easier have the whole screen go red and obscuring your whole vision. It doesn't make it easier that most of the vocal customers consider every game before their birthday mistakes and way too old to venture in.
Most games now are treated as preschool classes for people who've never picked one up, gone are the days of interesting concepts such as limited saves, non-regenerative health and finding bullets by examining the toilet. Fortunately, it isn't suffering as bad as the cinema industry who are doing just about the same thing with movies (the way too obvious zooming on items that will play a significant role later, the constant reiteration of why something must be done, the Seth Rogen effect where every joke must be fully explained in order to be funny). Theatres are closing down everyday because of poor quality of mainstream stream cinema while gaming continues to flourish under these pretenses which is quite the feat.
I don't expect anything to change until something massive such as another crash to happen but there are quite a fair share of developers that manage to learn from the past and create great titles reflecting this.
Ehh i don't see any quotes in this articles seems like an opinion piece. Gamers aren't lazier just games don't offer what detailed worlds that are fun enough for gamers to explore. For example watch dogs 2 world vs GTAV world. both open world one is for exploring the other isn't yet they call it an open world but it's an open bland world.
Well, this is what happens when something becomes popular to the general population. You get a much broader audience, and the majority of the human race is dumb as a bag of hammers.
Just look at spelling and grammar these days. "Should of instead of should have, than and then........" used completely improperly. and the list goes on. People just laugh it off, as if having the equivalent of grade 5 spelling and grammar doesn't matter. Of course the average image of being "lazy and ignorant" is going to shine through. The world is full of stupid people, and the internet has become a megaphone to showcase it.
Gaming used to appeal mostly to "nerds" back in the day. The last 15 years or so, it's been reversed. Who else would pay $15 for a few maps that take an afternoon to make? Really now.
