Scalebound vs. Silent Hills: Which Cancellation Left You With More Trust Issues?

As a player, there's little worse than the cancellation of a highly anticipated game. The past few years have been no stranger to this, with high profile games like Star Wars 1313 and Prey 2 meeting their makers. Thanks to yesterday, we can now add another casualty to that list: Scalebound, an Xbox One/PC exclusive action-RPG from PlatinumGames of Bayonetta fame.

Well Silent Hills upset more gamers.. not sure what the question is asking. Sounds like trolling for more fire.

Silent Hills sounded awesome, but it was cancelled before it really became anything. Scalebound looked like it was nearing completion, it was shown off at either E3 and Gamescom each year since it was announced with new updates and features. Then just like that, MS says they have ceased development on the game.

It's a far bigger blow, many of us expected the game to be out in the next few months and went into 2017 hyped up for it

many of us that actually owned an Xbox One with intentions of buying it? Or many of us here with PS4's that love any excuse to throw MS under the bus?

to me personally, the bigger blow of any sort of bad news in games and studios closing down would have to be Evolution and Lionhead. Two studios that have made some great series of games (Motorstorm & Fable respectfully).

Games come and go all the time but when the talent behind these games also must suffer their own demise then it just sucks even more.

I was really looking forward to a new motorstorm game for PS4 (pacific rift is still my favorite) and if lionhead was more into making a real Fable 4 instead of the fable legends then things could have been way different.

I'm not going to say one way or another, but there was actually a playable demo for PT and for me that's way more immersive than seeing a couple of trailers. The concept of Scalebound did seem really cool though, I love dragons.

Silent Hills for sure dealt the hardest blow. Scalebound is number 2 though.
No one predicted kojima's falling out, second, both Del toro and Norman Reedus were effected by it. And lastly Konami will not be the same anymore.

lol - the image is pure trolling at it's best.

Both are losses.

Silent Hills definitely hit me more because of the amazing collaboration it had and because i was invested heavily in the series. F*** Konami for eternity.

Scalebound could have been made by MS easily because have the finances to back it up. It was really bizarre for them to can it. The game looked good.

Well thankfully the collaboration of kojima and del toro is something that is still a go with the new game. so while silent hills is no more, the ideas that were 'somewhat' behind it still lives on.

They both give you a problem with trust.

The only difference here is that Konami (the publisher) had a demo out for everyone whereas Microsoft (the publisher) didn't.

P_Bomb496d ago (Edited 496d ago )

Silent Hills for me. It was a petty, pratty lack of professionalism on Konami's part right after PT became a sensation.

Then they removed it from the PlayStation account history server so we can't even re-download it like we can other removed software.

Then the grudge match between Konami/Kojima/DelToro really began. Award show fud, social media blood, behind the scenes developer mud.

Scalebound hasn't gotten that ugly, yet. Although some rumblings about Kamiya vs MS are slowly starting.

Of course people were more upset about Silent Hill. There are a lot of people on the internet being fake concerned about Scalebound in order to make a 100+ articles, and accumulate more ammo against MS.
