Rich at GameSpew: "Tales of Berseria's protagonist, Velvet, is a woman hell-bent on revenge. And judging by my time spent with the title, it proves to be a gripping premise."
This is the first game of 2017 I'm buying. So excited to play this
What about some love for Gravity Rush 2. :(. Tales of Berseria looks excellent, great start of the year for Rpg gamers.
Gravity Rush 2 will be eventually, because I'm getting Horizon Zero Dawn day one as well
I'm getting Horizon Zero Dawn and Gravity Rush 2 on launch.
GR2 is a must for me. I will wait and see reviews first for Tales and Horizon.
Looks like a great year for JRPGs on the PS4
PS3 version in there too it seems. What a beast console.
It's a shame the PS3 version isn't also being released internationally
Seems like a low bar tbh. Granted I've only played Symphonia, but people like to scream about that being the best and it was impressively mediocre.
Couldn't agree more. Bought it just on reputation and was astonished it got so much praise. The characters and story were so shallow and cliche it was painful. There wasn't a single character that was believable, memorable, or even not mildly annoying because of personality. The battle system, while fun at first, was also too button mashy. I played it for like 30 hours and gave up because nothing changed.
No lie it do look interesting it caught my attention more than horizon but if the rumors I seen say it coming to Switch, I may have to wait for switch
I've never been a fan of Tales games. The characters and stories are always SO trite, shallow, and cliche. I love the idea of the combat system, but they're too often just button mashers. I'm hoping this will be better because I could use a good RPG.
The last truly great Tales game was Vesperia. Xillia was good too but Vesperia was the series at it's top pinnacle. Xillia 2 and Zestria though were terrible, so bad that I couldn't even get through both without packing them back up and sending them back to Gamefly. I am hoping this one catches the same magic that Vesperia did because JRPG's so far this gen have been very lackluster.
You should of got a 3ds that's where they went.....Japan more focus on handhelds than consoles so more rpg is on the 3ds, the real good rpg, this why I'm glad Switch a handheld, the graphics of those 3ds rpg will look much better now on the switch
RE7 Biohazard and Tales of Berseria are day one buys for me.
Tales games are phenomenally average at best bar a few flukes like Vesperia, Symphonia, and Abyss. Ever since they ditched the world map with towns, ships, and airships the series has become terrible. Rushed out, unfinished, copy and paste with empty worlds and obtuse game design. Zestiria was a mess of a game with the worst skill and equipment system I've ever seen. I also hated the merging with a teammate to form a super saiyan. Ruined the mechanics. Remove the stupid subsystems, overly complex shit, and make a classic tales game please.
