FF VII remake should be a hilarious and shining example of this. Expensive train wreck incoming. Given SE hasn't posted anything aside from "5 million copies shipped" for FF XV, I'm assuming I was correct in that game flopping also. Given that SE claimed it needed to sell 10 million units to break even, which is rather believable given the drawn out development, and gross overspending on advertising and spin offs.

Who still invests in SE? It's been flop after flop after flop for the past 8 years now. The only good games they've released were either out sourced, developed by an acquired studio, or some re-release from back when they were actually a good game developer in Squaresoft. Unreal.

Deus Ex Human Revolution was the best game of last generation. How has SE been giving flops really?

@theop, Dark Souls says hello.

This list is a bit iffy to me especially when it comes to one of the most important things in making a sequel, if it isn't broke don't fix it. The reason why people are excited for Resident Evil 7 is because it returned notable elements from it's earliest predecessors not exactly a reboot. If anything following a reboot (Resident Evil 4) is what got the series at it's current low point......

the first watch dogs sold really well, titanfall 2 (titanfall 1 sold pretty good for a new ip) might still have some legs and even call of duty didnt start out selling 10 million copies, and dishonored 2... well I guess it just didnt appeal to the audience enough?
another garbage article

Dishonored 2 was great. It was everything I wanted in a sequel, new area, some additions and tweaks to core system, overall more of the same. Games dont need to evolve for the sake of evolution.

I wish we got dlc for Ratchet and Clank Rift apart. I want more content for that masterpiece of a game.

badz1491h ago

yeah, would be great to have a story expansion or something for Rift Apart. with the Rift and multi-dimensional travel, there is so much potential left on the table. but I guess with the Spidey games doing bonkers and next, Wolverine, it will be some times before we see another R&C. oh...and RIP Resistance!

Meanwhile Wild Arms is forgotten about.

Good-Smurf58m ago

That had nothing to do with Insomniac at all lol.

I know I just wish Sony would recognize and remember such a great JRPG franchise.
