Sony has finally updated the PlayStation Store to detail the enhancements its supercharged PS4 Pro console brings to eligible first-party titles.
Neat, this is welcomed
@green gangster How in the heck did i get banned for i guess cursing like a couple times on my old account, and yet you're still allowed to post the trash every other day?
Rookie (he's Green_Gangsta (and countless other accounts)) has only one major sense in life...creating hundreds of alt accounts in order to troll this site no matter how often he's getting banned.
I got blocked once and I never cuss and try to be civil. I just logged back in and have been using the same account I've used for years. Go figure. Green Gangsta has issues.
Can the mods block the IP addresses to every device Rookie uses so that Rookie cannot access the site and post such vitriol?
@GreenGangsta OMG! There must really be nothing for you to play since all you do is push a fanboy war.
ps4 pro hd? lol, what does that even mean? they cant say 4k but are they implying the regular ps4 doesn't do hd? this is the problem with trying to market a beefed up ps4 without upsetting or making the ps4 look inferior.
Thankfully though this is factual compared to the "4K gaming" nonsense that MS tried to pull a couple of weeks ago, and at E3 with the Xbox One S, and generally throughout this gen. Nice try downplaying nothing Moldy 😊
factual like killzone being 1080p or factual about mark cerny trying to convince everyone the ps4 pro has dual gpu cards? and the xbox one s does have a 4k player unlike the ps4 and pro, they never said madden was native 4k in that commercial.
DX just seems like it would fit better than HD. HD stand for high definition while DX is generally used for deluxe. And given that both base and pro are capable of HD it just seems odd they would use those letters instead of something more in line with what is being offered. Pro will offer a more deluxe experience... hence, the use of DX makes perfect sense.
Moldy Bread probably still believes in The Cloud 😂
@moldybread Well looking at the 2013 E3 highlights https://www.youtube.com/wat... we can still see that Microsoft has not changed its main focus, hence the UHD Bluray player in the XB1s which is sort of like giving the middle finger to all XB1 owners.
Why do they always bring up 4K blu ray player? I'm playing Watch Dogs 2 now on the Pro not watching movies.
Idk he raises a good point imo and I'm team sony
U are a sad POS, u know that? trying to make something out of nothing. You hardcore Xbox guys are just sad pricks!
I know right? Always preaching doom and gloom. They just don't realise that real Playstation fans don't give a crap about anything they think is an actual problem. Why do they waste their time? They don't understand that we are extremely happy with Sony and their direction. Just look at all the exclusives we're getting. WOW, is all I can say.
Of course. Our resident Sony advisor(Xfan) that voices the *concern* of every PlayStation fan is here to let us know that the company shouldn't tell customers what they'll see when playing a PS4 Pro game over base PS4. How misleading of them to do that. It's funny when Sony puts word out that their game system(PS3-PS4) will support games UP TO 1080p/60fps. But then, you have concern parties thinking that ALL games are supposed to be 1080p/60fps. Sony puts out that all PS4 consoles support VR. But soon after, there are concerned individuals who then think ALL games current and in the future have to support VR. Not addons or VR modes. The whole game has to be VR. No differentiation between VR and non VR games. Sony puts out that PS4 Pro supports 4K. And then the resident PlayStation advisor (ass)umes that all games have to be 4K, that Sony can't use checkerboard rendering to produce a better picture and should hide information from the consumer so that they can get sued like those killzone gamers looking for cash can do so again. Good thing we got our PlayStation advisor to let us know what Sony should be doing for us PS4,PS4 Pro and PSVR owners. We love his concern in every PlayStation article.
Top notch coming from you, the resident Xbox adviser who more than enough times comments on every conspiracy theory and crackpot idea related to MS or Xbox. Too funny how the similar lies, PR and certain tricks for 4k left out by Sony to their consumers shouldn't be brought up or discussed or you'll be attacked.
@Apocalypse Shadow "Of course. Our resident Sony advisor(Xfan) that voices the *concern* of every PlayStation fan is here to let us know that the company shouldn't tell customers what they'll see when playing a PS4 Pro game over base PS4. How misleading of them to do that." this coming from someone that tries to oversell their products at the expense of the xbox brand is upset over any criticism towards a company who treats you no different than they treat me? how ironic. "It's funny when Sony puts word out that their game system(PS3-PS4) will support games UP TO 1080p/60fps. But then, you have concern parties thinking that ALL games are supposed to be 1080p/60fps." nice reading skills. i am implying that 720p was often already considered hd and the ps3 was already a hd game console and the ps4 was already more than capable of 1080p which is also considered hd is it not? what does frame rates have to do with any counter argument of sony's new marketing of the pro hd slogan? "Sony puts out that all PS4 consoles support VR. But soon after, there are concerned individuals who then think ALL games current and in the future have to support VR. Not addons or VR modes. The whole game has to be VR. No differentiation between VR and non VR games." so now you want to talk about other topics i have made comments about in the past so you can go even further off-topic because you are still upset? "Sony puts out that PS4 Pro supports 4K. And then the resident PlayStation advisor (ass)umes that all games have to be 4K, that Sony can't use checkerboard rendering to produce a better picture" did i say they can't? i said it is now confusing of what hd is and what isn't. "and should hide information from the consumer so that they can get sued like those killzone gamers looking for cash can do so again." what are you babbling about? calling pso pro games as pro hd makes little sense. just have something on the box saying pro enabled or pro enhanced. calling it ps4 pro hd just adds more confusion imo. "Good thing we got our PlayStation advisor to let us know what Sony should be doing for us PS4,PS4 Pro and PSVR owners. We love his concern in every PlayStation article." glad to be of help, you are welcome.
Actually, I put out facts to counter all the nonsense opinions and opinion articles of Xbox fans who are upset that Sony is destroying a richer company to the point that they can barely comment about their sales. It upsets you guys that Sony is beating them from all fronts and we told you guys last gen that if Sony launched at the same time as Microsoft that Microsoft would get dominated. You also support a company that was trying to take away gamers rights of ownership of their games. But nitpick Sony left and right because you're salty. There's so much salt from you guys that you can start businesses and outsell Morton http://cdn.mortonsalt.com/w... Yes I'm glad Sony is whopping Microsoft's @$$ because things would have been a whole lot worse this gen if they were leading. Sucks to be you guys.
@Apocalypse Shadow "Yes I'm glad Sony is whopping Microsoft's @$$ because things would have been a whole lot worse this gen if they were leading. Sucks to be you guys." this is about the most fanboyish thing i've heard all year. i game on a pc that is not limited to 30fps gaming and doesn't charge me to play online. i also have over 200 games in my steam account plus other pc games. i dont need you to try and sell me a $250-$400 game console. so please continue your tirade about microsoft in every topic you can, all while watching your money be spent on marketing explaining the benefits of a midcycle system that will only be relevant for about 3 years. yeah, it sure sucks to be me.
@mouldyhead I'm surprised you haven't so far proclaimed the '4K UHD movies are more important than 4K games' argument which was so prevalent amongst Xbox fanboys on the Pro's launch.
No. It's just a nice added detail and everyone knows what it means.
WHY... are you such a pessimist. I know people that still have the original PS4 and they don't give a crap. They know that all games will play on their PS4s in the future. I've got a PS4 PRO and I'm happy to get options. Some games are native 4k. Some games have more framerate and better anti-aliasing. At the moment, they need to differentiate between the OLD games that have "pro support" and those that dont. Come 2017, and the transition period will be over, and you won't notice. BUT YOU, seem to act like it's the end of the world. YOU'RE A TROLL. People know this. You care more than anyone else it seems.
It means it's resolution is higher than the launch PS4 and anything up to 4k. How is that hard to understand? Answer: it isn't, you're just trying desperately to singlehandedly take down PlayStation via the medium of N4G comments section. It's ALMOST a shame all you actually achieve is giving everyone a guilty laugh at your sheer delusion.
At least they don't imply it can do 4K across the board, no matter what, without ever bothering to be clear on things that are actually relevant to the spec. The whole 4K spec and marketing is completely screwed up across the board, both in gaming, the TV's themselves, and everything else involving 4K.
But the PS4 is inferior to the PS4 Pro. Its more powerful. Isn't it? It runs games much better, doesn't it?
PS4 Pro does native 4K, unlike XboneS which can't do any games over 1080p. Obviously PS4 Pro HD is referring to over 1080p native. Native 1440p to 2160p and cb 4K/native 4K. Downplay Pro all you want but native 1440p to 2160p is a significant jump from its closest competitor (xboneS) which sports native 720p to 1080p. Then compare checkerboard rendering to regular upscaling.
Good stuff. But I'm sure going forward into the new year, all future games will have "PS4 Pro HD" support. It's just , at the moment, you need to differentiate between the older games that have released, which has 'pro' patch and which doesn't. This is a small transition period. But all new games coming in 2017, things will be just fine for original PS4 and the PS4 PRO. If you own the original PS4, you DO NOT have to get the PRO. Everyone knows this, except for the trolls it seems.
That's the worst thing about the Pro right now, the lack of support and baseline regarding what Pro Enhanced actually means.
There were over 50 retrospectively Pro-patched games within a fortnight of launch and I've lost count since - how does this reflect a lack of support in your opinion?
I guess you guys will spin it the way you want anyway.
Relax. There is no bad thing about the Pro. Once all the new games start coming out next year then they will automatically be supported. It's up to devs. It's either a bump in resoloution, shaders, anti-aliasing, fps, whatever the dev wants. All you gotta know is, that if you got the pro, then games will have some kind of enhancement going forward... and if you got the original PS4 then all the games that play on the PRO will play on the normal PS4. I don't get what the big deal is here.
i bet the average casual gamer is gonna be like ''wtf is a ante alias?'' and ''supasamplu?'' ;
Here's hoping it brings more enhancements to games as far as 4K is concerned than in the video department. I still haven't found a way to read 4K vids on my Pro...
Neither have I but hey I haven't owned a dvd for near on 5-6 years and probably won't considering they cost 20-30 quid here in the UK for a 1-2 hour long 4k blue ray.
That is always the problem with what can be called passive entertainment which treats you as the spectator since you cannot change what you are watching. Basically, once you have watched a movie or a show most people will not watch it again although I won't deny that some movies do deserve (very subjective) to be watched more than once. In my case paying a premium of 50% to 100% more than the equivalent HD Bluray is just not cost effective since it is very rare for me to watch the same movie twice much less three or more times. In fact, I am finding that I prefer playing a game to watching a movie and although most games have only one ending (some have multiple) at least the journey to the end is controlled by me. Playing a game (computer or otherwise) is what I call active entertainment since you the player have an input into how the game is played sometimes good and sometimes bad. Of course, if you want to play well then you need to at least "git gud" or just "git bttr". 😉
The Updates listed are far greater achievements than 4k.
My Ps4PRO50inch Samsung 4khdr wide color is so ready for 2017
Sony's PS4 Pro can't can't produce native 4K visuals in 99% of games releasing so they made-up their own term. I'd laugh if it wasn't so sad and pathetic.
What is trully pathetic(apart from your comment of course) is people believing in a console that does 4K at 60fps that just happens to NOT EXIST yet.
Atleast we got new ip's releasing all next year aside from the same rehashed crap for the last decade. I'm willing to look past the graphics department because that's what PC'S are for. Theres no denying the ps4 pro is good value for a gamer, or a you gonna blatantly outright say the 100's of exclusives Sony have are all crane yet the 10-20 ms have are all good.
Yeah, if only Sony had a console that could do "True 4K".
@ letsa_go funny how your not embarrassed by the other side fanboys 😂. you should read your post back to yourself and think about it. ok so if the PS pro is HD what is the ps4 vanilla then?
well this was thoughtful, tired of guessing what was done after seeing "PS4 Pro Enhancements" added in patch notes
I'd like all enhanced games to do this. Just recently got a 4K tv and the PS4 Pro is amazing.
Bloodborne needs a pro patch. Just got the game for Christmas and I'm loving every minute of it, but it would be nice to have a silky smooth 60fps.
You could try an SSD (not cheap) which would definitely improve the loading times (300MB/sec for the PS4 and up to 600MB/sec for the PS4pro) but unfortunately, I doubt the frame rate is going to be changed to 60fps since that is up to the developer to fix and like any computer there are tradeoffs. Most of the time the framerate for Bloodborne is acceptable for the visuals you get and the only time you really get very noticeable slowdown is in the Lecture Theater but you are not there long anyway.
Yeah I just made it to the Cathedral :]
Well since the PS4 Pro is not capable of displaying real 4k graphics they just gonna call it pro HD how cute
Maybe you should look up what games that will run 4K natively at 60fps on the PS4pro. The following will help http://smartstocknews.com/8... although not all games listed will run at 60 fps since some are locked to 4K 30 fps (eg. Skyrim) but they all run 4K natively. Many older PS4 providing the developer patches their games will allow for "Checker Board Rendering" which will make the game look crisper on a 4K display rather than just do upscaling which all 4K displays can do anyway. Anyway give it two to five years and I am quite sure people will be saying the same thing when 8K displays become the norm.
It's capable of displaying them. It isn't capable of producing them in all games. Big difference. But all these companies are making it out like displaying and producing are equal, and using it to promote their consoles because the whole 4K standard is a complete clusterf**k in terms of marketing.
Sony needs to recognize when I already OWN a Disc version of a game when I am in the PS Store. Also, let us customize the VIDEO folder. Or at least stay the way I left it instead of randomizing the apps. Always find You Tube etc all over the place when I go back in.
