In an unprecedented (and slightly baffling) move, Sony has quietly included a PSVR game in December’s selection of “free” games offered by Playstation Plus.
It's so much fun!
I recommend you "Switch" to the One
"slightly baffling" you say? I dunno, to me it just sounds like they are trying to push VR more. Which for those with no interest, means the value of PS+ is even lower this month. Great.
There are several other titles this month.
It is VR compatible and can still be played by anyone with a PS4 and without VR. It is a bonus for anyone with PSVR and takes nothing away from those who don't have PSVR. On top of all that, you are expecting way too much value for your $5.00/month. If you can't get $5.00 worth of enjoyment out of Plus titles each month then cancel your sub.
Think I'm going to. PS+ was much better during PS3 and I am hardly the only one who feels that way. Is that okay? Is it okay I have a different opinion than you?
@GrimmyReaper "I dunno, to me it just sounds like they are trying to push VR more. Which for those with no interest, means the value of PS+ is even lower this month. Great." Sorry, thats not a opinion. That's you being jealous and trying to make a opinion out of something that is the complete opposite. If we want to get technical about it offers more value for the more money. Cause not only can people play without VR, the people that have purchased PSVR can experience it with VR. Those are facts and not opinion like you tried to say. P.S. Please do cancel. Better yet, just sell it and purchase a different console. Im sure that would make you much happier. It's obvious you dont have PS+ anyways, or you would have known you could play it with Vr or without.
16 cents a day that's to expensive to have MP and some games tossed to you every month :} I mean shit my coffee is $2.75 a day, and that works out to $717.75 weekdays a year I guess I'll stop drinking my 2nd coffee for one year and buy 12 PSN+ cards, what the hell I'll do it at full price instead of waiting for a sale! Then I'll be good till 2029. By that time there will be flying cars and I can get away from you friggin entitled millennials!
Would that be bad if they're trying to push VR? I don't think it is
How does the value decrease when it's playable as a non-VR title?
Because poor math, lack of common sense, and keyboard rabble trousers.
$5 miserable dollars is too much for you? What are you doing with a PS4 then? Lol
They already had 2 games per system. This is just an added game to the list. How has the value decreased?
Grimmy, you are dead wrong bc Hyper Void can be played in VR and without VR. It can be played on PS3, PS4, and PSVR.
Ive already added this to my library along with any other free piece of software on the store. Did the same with my ps3 and when I brought my daughter a PS Vita last year, I had a massive back catalog of games for it.
This is the only way to do it. Any other way is way wrong.
Nice I hope it becomes a trend. PS+ is for me a way to play games I would never have bought otherwise with sometimes some very nice surprises.
It's not baffling at all. People own PSVR, they want more people to buy it, having a few free games before getting it might tempt some to make the investment. Besides, They're probably going to ditch PS3/Vita support sooner rather than later so it makes sense for them to st including games for the new hardware to fill the gap.
Psvr is only launching here in Jan 2017. I'll add this to my library so I have a freebie VR title to play
Where are you located?
South Africa. We also got ps pro late only last week :|
How do people who don't own a PSVR headset feel about subsidizing a game for a small subset of players. Grant non VR owners can play this but what happens when it is a VR only title that would seem to set a bad precedent. I also recall many people not being happy at subsidizing Vita games too.
Let's ask those people who went from 360 to PS4 how they feel about the PS3 games.
Solderman, Hence why the game is playable in VR or without. Nobody is subsidizing anything right now and your point is entirely based off of a "but what if in the future..". This adds more value. Gotta love crossbuy.
I remember when Plus was actually good.
Like when we got Transformers Devastation, Journey, Resident Evil, Lords of the Fallen? I remember as well, those great times, i was such a young lad way back in October of 2016..
Lol you think Lords of the Fallen was great? Transformers = rubbish, Journey is a 4 and a half year old downloadable game, and RE is okay... but a pretty bland remaster overall. I guess that's an okay month... but certainly nothing compared to before the PS4 was released. They gave things like Tomb Raider and Borderlands 2 1-2 years after their original release... it's gone waaaaay downhill.
Sweet, this is great news if you own the vr headset. Very soon my precious
Awesome, just the other day I almost bought it for the VR.
I need to get my hands on a headset before Xmas, any advice is greatly appreciated. I'm in NJ
Thx I'm a need it
Just Keep checking Amazon and continue to ask your local Gamestop. It'll probably be late January until they become available but as soon as one does jump on it. I LOVE my PSVR, Arkham VR is a religious experience. Thumper, Rigs, Rez Infinite, and Until Dawn Rush of Blood are GREAT games. Even Tethered and Bound are spectacular in VR. With Resident Evil 7, Farpoint, and Gollem coming very soon, you're gonna want PSVR.
I already knew this, it's bc of crossbuy. Still pretty awesome though.
Wow, I'm usually on top of things like this, especially when it comes to PlayStation VR. I already downloaded the game on my PS4, but wasn't aware of the VR support. Not sure how I missed that. I will play this weekend.
Get more vr headsets and I'll buy1 they are sold out everywhere in the U.K.
Interesting.. I may pick it up.
Unprecedented? Sure because PSVR just came out. No shit. Baffling? Why?
Hey all. Author of the article here. Thought I would explain the "baffling" part. I wasn't saying that it was baffling that they added the game. It's AWESOME that they added the game. I was trying to say that it was baffling that they did not note the fact that the game had PSVR capabilities in any of their publicity. That's all. It was such a cool move, I thought that they might have publicized it a bit.
