Rumor: The release date of Cyberpunk 2077 may have been released

One must also keep in mind that they said the game was quite a ways off. I would love to have it in 2017 but I would honestly not be surprised for it to be mid or late 2018. I mean they said the scale of this game is going to be much larger then Witcher 3 which is already kinda mind blowing to me. I would like for them to take all the time they need so we get some as good if not better then Witcher.

That said it would be cool if we got to see what the game is some time next year. But maybe they will pull a Fallout 4 and only show it when it's really close to release.

I agree, especially since CDPR always seem to push for more and are always so ambitious. I mean, they said it's gonna be bigger than TW3 and how many delays did that get? Two if iirc.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see it sooner rather than later (as long as they don't rush it, which I doubt) and who knows? Maybe with their previous experience with TW3 and everything they've learnt, plus the allegedly much larger team working on it, they're managing to be faster and more efficient with this game's development.

I don't think it's "focusing" on multiplayer I think it will have some form of multiplayer whether it be competitive, cooperative, or community-based. Not all multiplayer is bad if you're losing your mind thinking it will be competitive multiplayer.

So chill, grab a coke and have a smile. I'm pretty sure this will still be a heavily focused single player RPG.

Not for me, I prefer a game with a single player emphasis and a strong replayability factor.

I finished XCom 2, then went straight back in with a higher difficulty (the procedural generation of levels helps make it hugely replayable).

I haven't touched the online element. Most multiplayer modes lose too much of the feel of the real game and remind me how irritating other players invading your gamespace can be.

Just like The Witcher 3 focused on multiplayer, right? CDPR focus on single player story driven RPGs. It's a fair assumption that Cyberpunk will take that approach.

CDPR spent roughly 5 years developing Wild Hunt - not to mention the 'Blood and Wine' expansion, which released in May... With the way they work (1 game at a time), there's just NO WAY that Cyberpunk - which is said to be bigger and more ambitious than any of The Witcher titles - will release next year.

Edit: The XO version of the Witcher 3 uses dynamic scaling - tech that will allow for a performance boost on Scorpio, regardless of CDPR... that said, any gains are unlikely to be as impressive as a dedicated Pro/Scorpio 'remaster', which is why Cyberpunk's post-2017 release is good news - all but guarantees a day 1 Scorpio patch!

We might as well post an article saying the remainder of PS4's exclusives games are rumoured to be coming out on December 29th 2017 because Amazon lists them down as that date.

Why would CDPR release this game around the time of RDR2?

Replaying TW3 and dlc on 4K and it's glorious. Easily one of the best games ever made!

This game would of stood a chance a few years ago, but looking at one some of the 1st party studios are doing ie.
Guerilla, Kojima, ND and Santa Monica. I just can't see this game being competitive at all.

You might want to get a refund on that crystal ball... Wild Hunt is one of the most awarded titles in the history of videogames - one which improved upon it's predecessors in EVERY SINGLE WAY.

Santa Monica's last game was so great that Sony cancelled it - not to mention it's been years since Guerilla made a good game (Killzone 2)... and don't even get me started on Kojima - the guy's barely started work on Death Stranding and people are already calling it a masterpiece, despite MGSV!

And yet none have made a game better than The Witcher franchise, imo. That no disrespect to any of the games made by Guerilla, Kojima (Death Strand my most anticipated), ND or Santa Monica (Replaying God of War 3 Remaster), Uncharted, etc. All great games but none are can compare to Witcher. Cyberpunk can hang with any game but it doesnt have to. Hopefully it releases during a time where all attention will be on the this game. Anyway cant wait for this game.

If you look at The Witcher 3. There was a plenty shows, gameplays, presentations, trailers before game been released.
Most likely these dates are for some new trailers or shows.

The Witcher 3 was a game made around a universe already existent in terms of environment, story, etc. This is a brand new game that in many ways has to be started from scratch and seeing as they will want to release it when they feel it's finished and polished...
