At first I wasn't sure.

But this looks like Eternal Sonata all over again.

Both Eternal Sonata and TOV did good in japan for the first week or two and then tailed off.

Both games didn't sell well in the United States.

Now look at Eternal Sonata. It was brought over to the ps3 because of overall poor 360 version sales. Tales of Vesperia will probably be have a ps3 version as a result as well.

The difference here is people felt Tales would have done better since it's a well-known franchise.

Namco, wake up!- You know where to put your rpgs. Two of your rpgs sold poorly thus far. And clearly the poor sales has nothing to do with the install base considering the 360 is on the verge of 20 million units by now. One was a new IP. One was an old IP. Which tells you it doesn't matter if it's a new IP or not.

Although Eternal Sonata will not sell well on any console, its just not a very good game despite reviews. Tales will do better on ps3 (in Japan), don't forget that JRPGs not named Final Fantasy almost never sell well outside Japan.

That TOV was only on sale for 4 days in August (it launched on August 26). Less than 10,000/day isn't great but it's hardly the big picture.

Eternal Sonata and Tales were always going to come to PS3. With both games Namco Bandai just happened to let it slip that their was a PS3 version in the works (whoops) then when everyone found out they said "no that was a little mix up, it's a 360 exclusive."
