Check out the games for those who want to boldly go to unknown times and place.
No man sky is still the best Space exploration game ever made.
Elite Dangerous is better
Elite dangerous does the whole 'space' exploration better. By quite a bit. No mans sky is better for..landing on planets. ED is less repetitive too. Example... Dropping out of warp almost landing in a star is ****ing scary. Nothing like that happens in NMS. Nothing particularly interesting happens in space in NMS. ED, everything interesting is in space.
Elite dangerous is the best hands down
That is laughable.
It's a shame really the way No Man's Sky ended up. It could have been so much more if they worked longer and with a bigger team on the game. It could have been the best sci fi exploring game of the decade.
They just announced a new foundation update which will introduce major changes including base building.
Oh God no. Space Engine is better, looks better, has just as much to do, and it's free. Oh, and it actually has orbital patterns.
If you had played it at least.
LMAO!! I got a good chuckle. Wheeww.. another "joke of the day" comment. I love those. @kraenk12 I did play it. lol!! No where close to best of anything.
Play it before you judge.
Most of these were available for a long time before NMS came out, especially Rodina.
Astroneer seems like a neat game.
Rivals are supposed to be those, that equally match each others in terms of quality. No Man's Sky had which quality? Heck, all these games are more polished right now than NMS.
the astroneer guys twitch stream often. really cool game. the art/design is awesome. (imo) early access starts in december, i think they said.
Some of these have been out way longer than NMS has been out. Not like they just arrived.
If anything this disasterpeice has shown what not to do and a few things to do, other devs can now learn from it and give us the game we all really want.
They aren't done yet. They just announced a new update with base building.
Are people going to be sending death threats & kicking a dead horse this long when other games overpromise? Companies like Ubisoft would be out of business if gamers treated them the same way they're treating Hello Games. Get over it, they couldn't deliver what they planned on, the only thing that was straight "lied" about was multiplayer, everything else was within the norm. Most people got their money back, a lot of people abused the Steam refund system, etc. those people didn't lose anything & don't have a right to complain (plus a lot of people lied to get refunds after playing & enjoying the game). There were even topics about what to say to get a full refund no matter if you enjoyed it or not, if things like that become the norm, don't be surprised if they scrap the digital refund system.
With ubisoft at least games like watch dogs are somewhat enjoyable, no mans sky is just so horrid that most people can't even stand it at all. It's a huge difference.
I wonder if have even played it...the game is fine, it's just less than they promised.
I played it, there is absolutely nothing good about it. Even the menu navigation is just horrid. If you look at steam reviews you see something like watch dogs has a mixed reaction (which isnt really good), but no mans sky is mostly negative hovering on overwhelmingly negative. That's even worse than something like arkham knight that was taken off the store for a while!
How does a game so universal hated have "rivals"?
All NMS had to do was include survival features like ARK survival or The forest. Maybe there is still hope if they are working on it.
They just today announced a foundation update which introduced base building and will be the foundation for further improvements.
