GCO: "Some of us were left wondering whether any major players would be attending the upcoming Entertainment for All Expo. Now, we have learned that one of the key company's in the console race have decided not to attend E For All."
that picture is nice
everything nintendo somehow is pictured by a half naked girl.
...is great for picking up girls. Although I'd rather amaze them with my Guitar Hero skillz than the Wii. Wooo!! Slow Ride on Expert!!
Huh what was that? Was too busy starring at the pic
I doubt that Nintendo would have had anything to show that would appeal to core games, anyway.
This is exactly right. When someone (I think IGN) asked Nintendo if they were coming to Leipzig, they responded with something along the lines of they will attend these kind of conventions when they have something newsworthy. In other words they didn't attend Leipzig because they had nothing worth showing. They are also not attending E for All, presumably because they still have nothing worth showing (which is also backed up by the 2008 release schedule. Nothing remotely first party/interesting at all). They attended E3, but that was just god damn poor. They might as well have not attended it since none of it was newsworthy. I've been a Nintendo fan for 17 years. I can honestly say that the Wii is the worst console they have ever released. It was short sighted and underpowered. When I had my N64 I was proud because although it didn't have many games, of the games it did have they were high quality, and the hardware itself was excellent at the time (aside from using carts). At no point did I ever feel dissapointed with the N64. The Wii has been one huge dissapointment. I thought Virtual Console was going to be awesome, but we get one or two no name games per week out of a potentially mind blowing catalogue, and the lack of storage has meant that I couldn't be bothered to make room to check out the Wii Ware titles. Not to mention the lack of downloadable demos, or at the very least demo disks. I needn't mention it but the online is poor at the side of PS3 or Xbox360 too. I like to see who is online and what they are doing, and an easy method to invite them to a game, not just if they happen to be on the game the same time as me. Sometimes I feel like if they aren't going to offer a competitive service, don't offer one at all because all these half assed attempts at a console and services just frustrate me. Sorry for the rant, but I've really had enough now. What with this new "casual brand", it's more clear than ever that Nintendo has forgotten it's roots and continue to make sub par games. What I found totally laughable at E3 was when they were like, "Don't worry, we're working on another Zelda and Mario game" Sure those games are great and I really can't wait for another proper Zelda game (an OoT beater this time please), but I'd like to see some new IP, or revived old IP at least. I'm sure they could have filled the release schedule gap with a new 1080 Snowboarding, F-Zero or something.
No offense, but you lost pretty much all credibility you had when you wrote "I can honestly say that the Wii is the worst console they have ever released." The Virtual Boy and all 14 of its games beg to differ.
". In other words they didn't attend Leipzig because they had nothing worth showing" In their opinion, its said before by them that they will not show anything if they are not confident about the project in its current state( confident as in "worth" showing). "What with this new "casual brand", it's more clear than ever that Nintendo has forgotten it's roots and continue to make sub par games" Nonsense, ill just copy paste from my previous post: "Just search the web and realize how much "casual" crap they made back in the days. Because you didn't pay attention to them didn't mean there weren't there. Just like how you guys ignore the fact that Nintendo IS making software for the traditional gamer that got an N64 and/or GCN but aren't talking about it. And since you can't see them now you guys think they do not exist. " ""Don't worry, we're working on another Zelda and Mario game" And you honestly think that's all? Zelda and mario team always work on Zelda and Mario, Other teams work on other games. Even if Nintendo released a game that is AAA, you guys would still claim they forgot about the roots. Edit: It's funny how you go by things you have heard or read from IGN but ignore the fact that they(Nintendo) also stated that they will not show anything untill they think it's worth showing. Why do you ignore that yet put up a hate rant while ignoring everything else they said?
i dont care if nintendo makes any games, all i care is that good games are made for the wii.
"What with this new "casual brand", it's more clear than ever that Nintendo has forgotten it's roots and continue to make sub par games" Nintendo have always been about family entertainment. Games that everyone can play. Dont u remember the original boxart for the Nes>? Well your obviously too young to remember (going by your stupid coments), so i will unblock your memory. It had a kid playing the Nes, with his dad...with his sister...and with his mum. So basically they have never been there for what u call "hard *cough* core" gamers. They've ALWAYS been there for just the everyday person. http://img154.imageshack.us... ^thats the japanese version box, but the US and europe had similar ones And to your comment about nintendo making "sub par games", ...well 3rd parties might...but nintendo sure as hell dont. Please dont twist facts.
