World of Warcraft opens PvE to PvP character transfers

Massively reports that Blizzard has reversed their earlier stance on no PvE to PvP server transfers. Per Bornakk on the official World of Warcraft forums, Blizzard has decided to open up transfers from PvE servers to PvP servers because "World of Warcraft has matured significantly since the inception of Paid Character Transfers, [they] don't feel that PvE-to-PvP transfers will have the negative impact on the game that [they] initially wanted to avoid when [they] started the service in 2006. This change will provide more mobility and freedom for players to experience the game with friends or play in the type of environment they're looking for."

This is pretty big news for WoW fans. Wish I would have known this before I leveled up a PvE BE Hunter because all my friends left the PvP server I was playing on.

Does this mean Person vs Enemy for PVE? Cause PVP is Person vs Person!
Just Curious!

I understand why they are making this change, and surprised they didn't do it earlier. I've leveled three characters to 70 on a PvP server, and it is not much more difficult than a PvE server (where I leveled one). This is also a good time for them to do it, since it's getting closer to the expansion.

WoW has "Matured" has it?

I had no idea the development cost of Lich King set them back that much. A quick infusion of cash from this gimmick should help them.

I also understand why and its called Warhammer online ....
Of course WAR isnt taking WoW down (though who knows by some weird miracles and people actually caring about pvp ) ... however as a wow "clone" (this is silly since blizzard basically scavenged the good parts of EQ and DAOC's pve , while years before scavenging the whole warhammer franchises) wich actually feature a real pvp , and with a decent pve , it could actually do some harm unlike AOC .
