From Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama, Sand Land is a fun adaptation of the manga and anime in videogame form. For all of its simplicity and repetition, it's a beautiful interpretation of the source material.

Demand for VR gimmick is not that high. Not surprise.
great number for $500 peripheral.
disappointing number for dawn of the VR.
Calling it "moderate" success is wording it very strangely. The device had limited shipments in Asian territories (50K in Japan,10K in China, etc.) and this suggests that it sold through every unit. I would call that a great success, seeing as demand is clearly much higher than Sony anticipated. If PS VR can sell 1 million + units before years end, that'd be amazing.
Saying things are gimmicky is just a gimmick.
If Sony managed to sell out what was actually available in 3 days, I fail to understand how this is not good for PSVR. It is obvious as one can see from sales in Europe and the USA that if more units are available, they would be snapped up. Haters and XBox fanboys would like to besmirch PSVR for no other reason than the fact that THEY don't have it and their favourite console could not be bothered with VR until it was obvious that the PSVR (Project Morpheus as it was known then) was getting good reviews from testers and journalists and gamers were eager for the headset to be released.
The only truth one can glean from how the PSVR is selling globally where it is released is that it is a huge success.
